Tolmin

The Municipality of Tolmin (pronounced [tɔlˈmiːn]; Slovene: Občina Tolmin) is a municipality in northwestern Slovenia. Its seat and largest settlement is Tolmin.

The Tolmin Museum is public institution which covers the areas of archaeology, ethnology, general history and history of arts at upper Soča Valley region in Slovenia. It is located in the Coronini mansion in Tolmin.

Žabče (pronounced [ˈʒaːptʃɛ]) is a village northeast of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia.The local church, built to the east of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Mark and belongs to the Parish of Tolmin.

MetalDays is a heavy metal music festival held annually in Lake Velenje, Velenje, Slovenia. From 2004 till 2022 it was held in Sotočje, Tolmin, Slovenia. The festival has been more popular every year with more media coverage, and has seen bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Amon Amarth, Volbeat and Sabaton and many more play at the festival. In 2010 the tickets were limited to 12,000, but with the new location, the limit has been increased to 25,000. MetalDays is also known for its sustainability and ecology initiatives and has won a greener future award 5 years in a row.2012 was the last year when the name Metalcamp was used. Since 2013 the festival is called MetalDays.In 2023, the location has changed from Sotočje, Tolmin, Slovenia to Lake Velenje, Velenje, Slovenia.In September 2022, a new Metal festival in Tolmin called Tolminator was announced. This festival is much smaller with tickets limited to 5,000.

Tolmin Castle (Slovene: Grad Tolmin, Italian: Castello di Tolmino, German: Bockstein, Tulmein), also known as the Castle on Kozlov Rob above Tolmin (Grad na Kozlovem Robu nad Tolminom), is a fortress ruin on the ridge of Kozlov Rob ('Billy-goat's Edge') above the town of Tolmin in southwestern Slovenia.

Zatolmin (pronounced [zatɔlˈmiːn]) is a settlement north of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

Poljubinj (pronounced [pɔljuˈbiːn]; Italian: Polubino) is a settlement east of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

Volče (pronounced [ˈʋoːu̯tʃɛ]; Italian: Volzana) is a settlement on the right bank of the Soča River in the Municipality of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia, close to the border with Italy.

Zadlaz–Čadrg (pronounced [zadˈlas ˈtʃaːdəɾk]; Slovene: Zadlaz-Čadrg) is a settlement in the hills northeast of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is accessible by road through the village of Zatolmin.
