125th Street station (IRT Second Avenue Line)

Chevrolet-Saturn of Harlem, Inc., was a car dealership in the East Harlem neighborhood in New York City. Originally touted as a minority-owned dealership and part of the only new-car facility in Harlem, it was abandoned by its original operator within months and was taken over by General Motors directly. On June 1, 2009, it was used as the lead company in the General Motors Chapter 11 reorganization filing in New York.

The Harlem African Burial Ground was a segregated cemetery created in 1668 for the burial of enslaved and freed Africans in the Dutch colony of Harlem, located at what is presently 2460 2nd Avenue in New York City. It was maintained until 1858 by the Elmendorf Reformed Church, the successor of the Low Dutch Reformed Church of Harlem which founded the cemetery. Although historians of New York and Harlem, as well as church historians, were aware of the cemetery's existence, the East Harlem community was largely unaware of its history until the late 1990s when the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) began planning the reconstruction of the nearby Willis Avenue Bridge. The investigation revealed that the construction might affect a colonial site and historic burial ground which was under the decommissioned East 126th Street Bus Depot. Per New York State law, the DOT conducted a Phase I-A historical and archeological survey, which verified the existence of the burial ground.

Crack Is Wack is a mural created in 1986 by American artist and social activist Keith Haring. Located near the Harlem River Drive in East Harlem, the mural serves as a warning against crack cocaine use, which was rampant in major cities across the United States during the mid to late 1980s. As a symbol of anti-drug activism, Crack Is Wack commemorates Haring's powerful sociopolitical presence as an artist and remains a part of New York City's repertoire of iconic public art.

Senator Robert F. Wagner Houses, also known as Triborough Houses, is a public housing development in the East Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, in New York City and is administered by the New York City Housing Authority. It is located east of Second Avenue in the northeast corner of Manhattan, consists of fourteen 16-story buildings and eight 7-story buildings, a total of 22 buildings. It has 5,290 residents who live in 2,162 apartments. The complex occupies 26.91 acres (10.89 ha). It cost $30,926,000 to construct.

The 129th Street station was a transfer station on the IRT Third Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City, shared by elevated trains of both the Third Avenue Line and IRT Second Avenue Line. The next stop to the north was 133rd Street for the main line and Willis Avenue for the Willis Avenue spur, both of which were across a swing bridge above the Harlem River in the Bronx. The next stop to the south was 125th Street−Third Avenue for Third Avenue Line trains and 125th Street−Second Avenue for Second Avenue Line trains.

The 121st Street station was a local station on the demolished IRT Second Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had three tracks and two side platforms. The next stop to the north was 125th Street. The next stop to the south was 117th Street. The station closed on June 11, 1940.

Sawyer Memorial Universalist Church was a historic church in Harlem, New York.The Second Universalist Society was organized early in the 19th century, and in 1832 acquired the Reformed Dutch Church at 97 Orchard Street. This church was torn down three decades later, and the society was in Oliver Street for a few years. Following the Civil War, the congregation moved in 1869 to Harlem where they met in a building on East 127th Street at the corner of Lexington Avenue. A new stone church was erected in 1879. At some point, the society merged or disbanded, and in 1889 the property became the Swedish Mission Chapel of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.

Arthur F. Collins (1937 – October 9, 1965) was a 28-year-old man who was murdered in a New York City subway after defending two women being assaulted by an intoxicated man. Collins's wife soon obtained employment, but in order to work, she had to send their daughter to live with relatives in Europe. Less than two months after Collins's wife was widowed, public outcry resulted in New York City Mayor Wagner signing a "good Samaritan" bill into law. In August 1966, New York State Governor Nelson Rockefeller signed into law a bill that would provide state compensation to eligible crime victims. Rockefeller said this law was the result of the murder of Collins. This law transitioned to the formation of the New York State Office of Victims Services, an agency that provides compensation to all innocent victims of all crimes.

The 125th Street station is an express station with four tracks and two island platforms. It is the northernmost Manhattan station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at Lexington Avenue and East 125th Street (also known as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard) in East Harlem, it is served by the 4 and 6 trains at all times, the 5 train at all times except late nights, and the <6> train during weekdays in peak direction. This station was constructed as part of the Dual Contracts by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company and opened in 1918. A planned northern extension of the Second Avenue Subway would connect with this station and with the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem–125th Street station, located one block west.

The Willis Avenue Bridge is a swing bridge that carries road traffic northbound (and bicycles and pedestrians both ways) over the Harlem River between the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx, United States. It connects First Avenue in Manhattan with Willis Avenue in the Bronx. The New York City Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining and operating the bridge. The bridge is part of the course for the annual New York City Marathon. The runners, after crossing over from Manhattan to The Bronx via the bridge (which has been dubbed "the wall" because it marks the 20-mile point on the run) then follow a short course through the borough and return to Manhattan for the race's final leg via the Madison Avenue Bridge.Between 2000 and 2014, the bridge opened for vessels 214 times.

The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) is a nonprofit organization based in East Harlem in New York City that serves as an Afro-Caribbean center of culture and community for members of the African diaspora.

Firehouse, Hook & Ladder Company 14, is a former New York City Fire Department firehouse at 120 East 125th Street in the East Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, United States. The building, a Romanesque structure designed by Napoleon LeBrun & Sons, was originally built for Fire Hook and Ladder Company No. 14. It is clad in brick and stone and is generally four stories high, with a one-story rear annex. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is preserved by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission as an individual city landmark. The site was originally occupied by Mechanics Company No. 7. replaced with Metropolitan Suburban Company 14 (later Hook and Ladder Company 14) in 1865. The current firehouse was constructed in 1888–1889 and used by Hook and Ladder Company 14 until 1975. Afterward, Engine Company 36 moved in, using the firehouse until 2003. The building was then unused until 2016 when the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) moved in.
