Shervettes Corner is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Maryland, United States, lying between Eldersburg and Randallstown. It is surrounded on three sides by Liberty Reservoir, south of Maryland Route 26. It is located east of the Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Bennett-Kelly Farm is an historic home and farm complex located at Sykesville, Carroll County, Maryland, United States. The complex consists of a stone and frame house, a stone mounting block, a stone smokehouse, a frame bank barn, a frame wagon shed, a frame chicken house, a concrete block dairy or tool shed, and a stone spring house. The original mid-19th century stone section of the house is three bays wide and two stories high. The house features a one-bay Greek Revival pedimented portico with Doric columns. It is an example of a type of family farmstead that characterized rural agricultural Carroll County from the mid 19th century through the early 20th century.The Bennett-Kelly Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Liberty Reservoir is a reservoir west of Baltimore, Maryland; about a mile north of Patapsco Valley State Park's McKeldin area. It is owned by the City of Baltimore Department of Public Works, but is located outside the city, and it divides Baltimore and Carroll Counties.

The original log section of the Moses Brown House was built about 1785, with a stone addition dating to about 1814. The house illustrates a transition in construction practice and style, with the much larger, later addition reflecting a higher level of detail and sophistication.The Moses Brown House listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Marriottsville is an unincorporated community in Howard, Carroll and Baltimore counties, Maryland, United States. Marriottsville is located along Marriottsville Road near the Carroll County line, 10.3 miles (16.6 km) north-northwest of Columbia.

Henryton State Hospital is a now-demolished hospital complex in Marriottsville, in southern Carroll County, Maryland, just across the Howard County line. The complex was located within Patapsco Valley State Park and along its southern end runs CSX's Old Main Line Subdivision and is very close to the Henryton Tunnel. The Henryton State Hospital center, or the Henryton Tuberculosis Sanatorium as it was called, was erected in 1922 by the Maryland Board of Mental Hygiene. It was established as a facility to treat African Americans suffering from tuberculosis. This was one of the first such facilities in Maryland erected to provide African Americans with the same level of treatment as white people. Other accounts state that this was more of containment Hospital rather than a treatment facility. They contend that Henryton was used more for the exile and quarantine of tuberculosis patients. The original complex opened in 1922 and consisted of six main buildings and one utility plant. These buildings were erected between the years of 1921 and 1923. The establishment of the Henryton Sanatorium was one of the final steps in Maryland's program to treat all of the state's tubercular patients. In the late twenties and early thirties the tuberculosis rate among African Americans in Maryland was quadruple the rate among whites. This placed a heavy burden on the hospital to deal with the increasing number of patients. In 1938 the hospital was budgeted $270,000 for the construction of new buildings to house 200 more patients. A refrigerated morgue was demanded after the hospital cremated and disposed of the remains of an African American child before the parents were contacted. The new buildings roughly doubled the size of the overall facility, and several more municipal buildings added even more space to the complex. However, by the time the new buildings were completed in 1946, the tuberculosis rates had dropped, leaving much more room than was necessary.

The Henryton Tunnel, located near Henryton in southern Carroll County, Maryland, is the third-oldest tunnel in the world that remains in active railroad use. Constructed by the Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) Railroad and opened around 1850, it was the first tunnel constructed on the B&O's Old Main Line. In 1865 the tunnel was widened to accommodate double track. It was rebuilt into its current form in 1903. The tunnel has brick portals and lining. The coping and footings are concrete.: 452

The Griggs House was a historic home located in Granite, Maryland. It was a two-story house constructed in the mid-19th century. The home is associated with the film, The Blair Witch Project. The house was a built in the style of Federal architecture, as a two-story stucco faced post and beam wood construction house on a stone foundation. It was two bays by three bays wide, and situated near the Smith/Sumwalt house and the Granite quarry which the town was renamed for. The house was visible on the 1877 Baltimore County Atlas. In 1984, the Department of Natural Resources conducted a historical survey of the Griggs property that resided on parkland of Patapsco Valley State Park. The property was not in use by this time and had interior details removed by vandals.In 1999, the house was used for the climactic ending of The Blair Witch Project. After filming, the State of Maryland announced it would demolish the historic home. As fans were visiting the abandoned house, its condition deteriorated. Funds were raised to save the building based on the success of the movie, and the State released press announcements that the property would be spared. However, the house was demolished soon afterwards without an announcement.
