Lage Zwaluwe railway station

The Moerdijk bridges in the Netherlands are bridges that connect the Island of Dordrecht with the Dutch province of North Brabant (Noord-Brabant) across the Hollands Diep. The first bridge was built at the end of the 19th century, and was a railway bridge. The second bridge was built in the 1930s for road traffic, and is currently part of the A16 motorway. This bridge was replaced in 1978 by a more modern, wider bridge. A second railroad bridge was finished in 2006, as part of the HSL-Zuid project. At the beginning of the Battle of Holland, on 10 May 1940, bridges were captured during a paratroopers operation and held for 4 days until German forward forces arrived. In 1944, both the road and railway bridge were destroyed by the Germans to prevent the Allied Forces from reaching the province South Holland.

It is located in the municipality of Drimmelen, about 1 km southeast of the town of Lage Zwaluwe.Gaete is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Lage Zwaluwe. Gaeta has no place name signs. It was home to 214 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 70 houses.It was first mentioned in 1846 as de Gaete, and means "mouth of a creek".

The Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta is a river delta in the Netherlands formed by the confluence of the Rhine, the Meuse (Dutch: Maas) and the Scheldt rivers. In some cases, the Scheldt delta is considered a separate delta to the Rhine–Meuse delta. The result is a multitude of islands, branches and branch names, in which a waterway that appears to be one continuous stream may have numerous separate names for different sections, e.g. Rhine → Bijlands Kanaal → Pannerdens Kanaal → Nederrijn → Lek → Nieuwe Maas → Het Scheur → Nieuwe Waterweg. Since the Rhine contributes most of the water, the term "Rhine Delta" is commonly used, although this name is also used for the delta where the Alpine Rhine flows into Lake Constance. By some calculations, the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta covers 25,347 km2 (9,787 sq mi), making it the largest in Europe. The Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta is economically extremely important, since the three rivers are major navigable waterways. The delta is the entrance from the North Sea to the German and Central European hinterland (and to a lesser extent France). Major ports in the delta are Rotterdam, Antwerp (Belgium), Vlissingen, Amsterdam (through the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal), and Ghent (through the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal). The land areas in the delta are protected from flooding by the Dutch Delta Works.

Zevenbergen is a railway station located in Zevenbergen, Netherlands. The station was opened in 1854, and is located on the Antwerp–Lage Zwaluwe railway. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen, with plans for possible additional service in the future.

Schenkeldijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland and is part of the municipality Hoeksche Waard. The village lies 1 km south east of the village Mookhoek and east of Strijen. Schenkeldijk was severely affected by the North Sea flood of 1953. Many wooden houses were donated to the village from Sweden and placed in what is nowadays called Zweedsestraat (Swedish street). Schenkeldijk is not a statistical entity, and considered part of 's-Gravendeel and Strijen. It has place name signs, and consists of about 200 houses.

Zevenbergen is a Dutch city which is a part of the municipality of Moerdijk. Zevenbergen is located in the northwest of the province of North Brabant near Breda.
