On March 2, 2020, 40-year-old Archie Paray, who worked as a security guard at the Greenhills shopping mall complex in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines took 55 people hostage at the administration office on the second floor of the Virra Mall. Paray was an employee of Safeguard Armor Security Corporation (SASCOR), and believed he was a subject of unjust termination. During the standoff, Paray demanded authorities to air his grievance against his former employers. Only one person was injured during the incident, and Paray was arrested after he freed the hostages.

Greenhills, formerly and still commonly known as the Greenhills Shopping Center, is a 16-hectare mixed-use shopping, residential and leisure development located in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is owned and managed by Ortigas & Company with a mall complex containing more than 2,000 stores.

Greenhills is an administrative division in eastern Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is an urban barangay in San Juan and is the largest barangay in the city, spanning over a third of San Juan City's total land area.Centered on the Greenhills mixed-use development and its adjacent residential subdivisions, the barangay's borders are defined by the Ermitaño Creek bordering Barangays Addition Hills, Little Baguio, and Santa Lucia to the west and Barangays East Pasadeña and Corazon De Jesus to the northwest. It has land borders with Quezon City's Barangay Valencia to the northwest, Barangay West Crame to the northeast, Barangay Camp Aguinaldo to the east, and Mandaluyong City's Barangay Wack-Wack Greenhills to the southeast.

BTTC Centre is a Class A 12-story green building located at Ortigas Avenue corner Roosevelt Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the first green building in Greenhills, San Juan to receive a Gold pre-certification for Core & Shell under LEED. Developed by Hantex Corporation, it is an office, commercial and retail type of property with a floor plate of 1,384 square meters per floor. BTTC Centre is also among the 58 projects currently registered for LEED certification, together with the Zuellig Building in Makati and Megaworld 8 Campus Building and Wells Fargo Headquarters, which are both in Bonifacio Global City. It is also an IT-Center PEZA Certified Building.

The Atlanta Centre is an office skyscraper in San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is also the highest building in the city with a total height of 179 metres from the ground to its architectural spire.The building has 35 floors above ground, including a 10-level parking area. It has 6 Otis elevators, and is equipped with a centralized PABX/ LAN communication networks plus a Building Management System (BMS).

Santuario de San José (Sanctuary of Saint Joseph) is a parish church found inside the Green Hills East Village in Mandaluyong, Philippines. It is designated as the Shrine of Saint Joseph the Patriarch. It is run by the Oblates of St. Joseph (OSJ). It is the home parish of different chapels: the Holy Family Chapel (inside the Greenhills Shopping Center) and the two chapels of Crame, Immaculate Conception and Sacred Heart. It is named after its principal patron, St. Joseph, husband of Mary. Secondary patron saints include St. Joseph Marello, founder of the Oblates of St. Joseph, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its principal feast day is on March 19, the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Secondary feasts include the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the feast day of St. Joseph Marello.

Camp General Rafael T. Crame (Tagalog: [ˈkramɛ]) is the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) located along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City. Formerly the national headquarters of the Philippine Constabulary, Camp Crame is across EDSA from Camp Aguinaldo, the national headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). It was named after the first Filipino Chief of the Philippine Constabulary, Brigadier General Rafael Cramé.

Fountain International School (FIS) is a Cambridge School in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila. It has two campuses that serves the multicultural and multinational community in Metro Manila, Philippines. FIS is an accredited Cambridge School that offers IGCSE subjects to prepare its students for international recognition. It is also certified by College Board to offer Advanced Placement (AP) and SAT programs and assessment. The Mira-Nila House is a historic mansion building in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Situated along Mariposa Street in Cubao, the building owned by the Benitez family is a declared Heritage House by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and one of the only two such declared houses in Metro Manila along with the Lichauco Heritage House in Santa Ana, Manila. The building currently houses a museum.

Colonel Bonny Serrano Avenue (also spelled Boni Serrano Avenue), formerly named and still referred to as Santolan Road, is a major east–west thoroughfare in the Eastern Manila District of Metro Manila, Philippines, running between San Juan and Quezon City. It forms the northern limit of San Juan and the southern limit of Quezon City's New Manila and Cubao districts and links the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame with the Armed Forces of the Philippines headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo. The avenue runs from the border of barangays Corazón de Jesús, St. Joseph (Halo-Halo), Pasadena, and Little Baguio in San Juan in the west to barangays Libís and Blue Ridge B near Quezon City's border with Marikina in the east. It was named after the decorated Korean War hero, Venancio "Bonny" Serrano.

Xavier School (simplified Chinese: 光启学校; traditional Chinese: 光啓學校; pinyin: Guāngqĭ Xúexìao; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kong-khé Ha̍k-hāu; also referred to by its acronym XS) is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school run by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus. Its main campus is located at 64 Xavier Street, Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. It has a satellite campus located in Diversity Ave. Nuvali, Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna. It is a K-12 school and its curriculum includes a mandatory Chinese language program. It also offers the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12 to selected students. Xavier continues to educate Chinese Filipinos since part of its mission is evangelizing the local Chinese and promoting their integration into Philippine society. Unlike other Chinese schools in the Philippines, Xavier was established as an all-boys school and its San Juan campus continuous to accept male students only. However its Nuvali campus is coeducational. Xavier School is a Catholic school with an English curriculum that integrated Chinese studies. Through its Grant-in-Aid program, the school offers financially challenged but otherwise qualified students the opportunity of a Xavier education.

Santolan station, also known as Santolan–Annapolis station, is a station on the Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3. It is the ninth station for trains headed to North Avenue and the fifth station for trains headed to Taft Avenue. The station is named after Santolan Road, which is officially known as Bonny Serrano Avenue. which stretches from Quezon City to San Juan. The station is located between Annapolis Street and Santolan Road, near the eastern San Juan-Quezon City boundary.
