The Dranse (French: la Dranse) is a French river in the department of Haute-Savoie, that empties into Lake Geneva between Thonon-les-Bains and Évian-les-Bains. The name "Dranse" comes from the former Drantia, based on the hydronym dur-, dora and the suffix -antia.

The Delta de la Dranse National Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located in the delta of the Dranse river. The reserve is located to the east of the commune of Thonon-les-Bains in southeastern France. At 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long by 500 metres (1,600 ft) wide, it covers a small area of 53 hectares (130 acres) at an elevation ranging from 372 to 380 metres (1,220 to 1,247 ft). Offering a rich botanic biodiversity, the site was declared a national nature reserve in January 1980 and declared a special "zone of protection" since September 1986. The beach of the last river delta along Lake Geneva is constituted of alluvium, sand, stones, and pebbles. The sandy beaches and small islands are constantly being formed by the path of the rising torrential river, which has resulted in the expansion of a rich diversity of flora and wildlife. The reserve shelters: Close to 750 plant species including orchids; More than 200 species of birds, notably the red-crested pochard, the little ringed plover – the reserve is the only nesting site for the common tern in the larger Rhone basin, additionally it is the southernmost point where the common gull nests; Numerous reptiles and amphibian species are equally represented; European beavers are well established along the banks.

The Funiculaire de Thonon-les-Bains, or Thonon-les-Bains Funicular, is a funicular railway in the spa town of Thonon-les-Bains, in the French département of Haute-Savoie. The line links the Belvedere, in the city centre, to the port of Rives, on the shores of Lake Geneva. The funicular is managed by the Syndicat intercommunal des bus de l'agglomération thononaise (SIBAT), which is also responsible for the local bus service. It was opened in 1888. It has been renovated twice, first in 1951. After another renovation finished in 1989 a fully automated system designed by Poma was put into operation. It was the 1st of its kind in France. Thonon-les-Bains station (French: Gare de Thonon-les-Bains) is a railway station located in Thonon-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, south-eastern France. The station was opened in 1880 and is located on the Longeray-Léaz-Le Bouveret railway. The train services are operated by SNCF.

The district is mostly known for the white wines it produces using the Chasselas grape, referred to locally as Fendant.

Stade Joseph-Moynat is a multi-purpose stadium in Thonon-les-Bains, France. It is currently used for American football matches and is the home stadium of Thonon Black Panthers. The stadium is able to hold from 3,000 to 6,000 people. It is also the home of association football club Thonon Evian Grand Genève F.C.

Armoy (French pronunciation: [aʁmwa]; Arpitan: Armoué) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. The commune covers an area of 4.95 square kilometres and lies between 415 and 674 metres above sea level. The inhabitants, of whom there were 1,287 in 2018, are known as Armoisiens.
