Yoell's Copse is a 5.5-hectare (14-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Horndean in Hampshire. It is owned and managed by Horndean Parish Council.This ancient wood has coppiced mature oak trees and wild service trees. There are uncommon plants such as butcher's-broom and common cow-wheat.

Meon Valley () is a parliamentary constituency in Hampshire represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Flick Drummond, a Conservative, since 2019. Hinton Daubney is a small hamlet in Hampshire, England, located between Catherington and Hambledon. It is the site of one of the earliest recorded sightings of ball lightning.Hinton Daubney played a role in the escape of Charles II from England after the battle of Worcester. The Forest of Bere is a mixed-use partially forested area in Hampshire immediately north of Fareham, Portsmouth and Roman Road, Havant and including a small part of the South Downs National Park.The former uninterrupted forest is now a mix of woodland, open space, ponds, streams, heathland, farmland and downland interspersed by minor villages and the major settlements of Waterlooville (with Cowplain) and Eastleigh (with Chandlers Ford). There are a number of paths and bridleways for walking and cycling. In the southern portion, towards the area south of the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, conifer plantations were created in the twentieth century.

Hart Plain is part of Waterlooville and is the northwesternmost ward in the Borough of Havant. The population of Hart Plain in 2015 was 8,755, making up 7.3% of Havant borough's population. The ward is named after the old Hart Plain House which formerly stood on the site now occupied by Waterlooville Health Centre. The ward consists mainly of post-1950s housing and includes Portsmouth City Council's Wecock Estate. There is one school in the ward, Hart Plain Junior School, located next to the Cowplain School in Hart Plain Avenue.

Catherington Down is a 12.8-hectare (32-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Catherington in Hampshire. It is also a Local Nature ReserveThis western sloping site is chalk grassland with prominent lynchet strips dating to the Middle Ages. It is managed by grazing and has a variety of chalk herbs, such as pyramidal orchid, round-headed rampion and autumn lady's-tresses. There is also a narrow belt of woodland.There is access by footpaths from Catherington Lane.

Cowplain is a village north of Waterlooville, Hampshire, England. With a population of 9,353 at the 2011 census, it makes up above 7% of Havant borough's population. It grew along the old London to Portsmouth road (the A3) on which the village centre and local shops lie.

Horndean Technology College is a large school, situated in the village of Horndean in Hampshire, England. The school has formerly been called Horndean Community School, Horndean Secondary School and Horndean Bilateral. It is also sometimes informally referred to as Barton Cross, after the road on which its main entrance is situated. The school teaches over 1500 students a range of subjects, and has a large campus with over 11 buildings. The school has started a pilot scheme where they offer podcasts over the internet for at-home learning.

The Cowplain School (formerly Cowplain Community School, and Cowplain Comprehensive school) is a coeducational secondary school located in Cowplain, Hampshire in the south of England. It has approximately 1060 students and around 60 teaching staff, plus around 35 other staff.

Catherington is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Horndean, in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 1 mile (1.8 km) northwest of Horndean. The village is also close to Cowplain and Clanfield. It is situated about 10 miles north of Portsmouth and eight miles south of Petersfield, in the very south of the district of East Hampshire. It has a semi-rural character. Catherington is not a very large village and has an approximate population of 3900 (estimated 1998). The village is a conservation area.

On 1 August, 1992, 15-year-old schoolgirl Helen Gorrie was found half-naked and strangled in the grounds of Merchistoun Hall in Horndean, Hampshire, after going out one night to meet a 21-year-old man named John Corcoran. She had met him the night before as he cruised around the area in his vehicle, and he had asked her to meet up with him that night. The murder of the schoolgirl made headline news at the time and featured on Crimewatch. Corcoran was suspected of strangling Gorrie after she refused his sexual advances, and in 1999 he was convicted of her murder, as well as being charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl in 1990. In 2003 Corcoran was released on appeal, on the grounds that the judge's final summing up had been deficient. The police revealed that there were no grounds to re-open the investigation and that they were not looking for anybody else, although the case remains officially unsolved.

Horndean F.C. is an English football club based in Horndean, near Portsmouth in Hampshire. The club are currently members of the Isthmian League South East Division and play at the Stanley Chase Stadium on Five Heads Road, Horndean.
