Nanoose Bay

Red Gap is southeast of Nanoose Bay on the east coast of southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The ghost town on BC Highway 19 is by road about 22 kilometres (14 mi) north of Nanaimo, and 16 kilometres (10 mi) south of Parksville.

Nanoose Bay station is a former railway station in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia. The station was a stop on Via Rail's Dayliner service, which ended in 2011. The station is on the Southern Railway of Vancouver Island mainline.

Arbutus Grove Provincial Park is a 22 hectare provincial park located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It was established on 21 July 1966 to protect a representative strand of Arbutus tree. The park is located within the larger Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region.

Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region (MABR) is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve located on the east coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It was designated in 2000 by UNESCO to protect a large second-growth coast Douglas fir ecosystem in the watersheds of the Little Qualicum and Englishman Rivers from being developed.

The Ballenas Island Light is an operational lighthouse built in 1900 and moved to its current location in 1912, on West Ballenas Island, Canada. It is a white, octagonal concrete tower with a red lantern 27 metres (89 ft) in height. It is not open to the public as it is on a privately owned island.

The Ballenas Islands are a pair of islands in the Strait of Georgia off the coast of British Columbia, Canada. West Ballenas Island is a BC Provincial Park while South Ballenas Island remains Crown land held by the Government of Canada. The Ballenas Island Light is on the northern tip of West Ballenas Island.The islands were named by Narvaez in 1791.: 13 

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is a provincial park in Parksville, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the east end of the town, the 347-hectare park features a two-kilometre long stretch of sandy beach, a stand of old-growth Douglas fir trees and 250 vehicle-accessible and 25 walk-in camping spaces. Popular year-round, the park is easily accessible from Highway 19. The sandy beach is the main attraction. At low tide, it stretches nearly a kilometre out into the Strait of Georgia.

Lantzville is a coastal community on the east side of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, along the western shore of the Strait of Georgia and immediately north of Nanaimo. The District of Lantzville was incorporated on June 25, 2003. It covers an area of 27.08 square kilometres (10.46 sq mi) and has a population of 3,807. The district is almost completely residential, with some commercial buildings on Lantzville Road (formerly part of the Island Highway). The area is served by the coast-spanning Island Highway and the Island Rail Corridor.

Rhododendron Lake is a lake located on Vancouver Island, Canada, east of South Englishman River and north west of Nanaimo Lakes. Adjacent to the lake is a small grove of Pacific Rhododendron which is a rare plant on Vancouver Island.

Englishman River (Halkomelem: K̓wal̓uxw) is a river in the eastern side of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It starts on the eastern slopes of the Beaufort Range, originating from tiny Jewel Lake and flowing in an easterly direction for 40 km (25 mi), entering the Strait of Georgia at Parksville, British Columbia. It is an important watershed providing habitat for various species of salmon and community water to the residents of Parksville and surrounding area. The Englishman River watershed includes Arrowsmith Lake, Hidden Lake, Fishtail Lake, Rowbotham Lake, Healy Lake, Shelton Lake, and Rhododendron Lake. Englishman River Falls Provincial Park is a popular tourist destination approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) upstream from the mouth of the river. It is famed for its two picturesque waterfalls and treed campsites. The park was created on December 20, 1940, in an effort to protect the old-growth forest and its associated ecosystem along the river in the vicinity of the waterfalls.A dammed reservoir on the Englishman is a source of water for Parksville, British Columbia.

Woodgrove Centre is a shopping centre on Vancouver Island in the harbour city of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Woodgrove Centre features 724,713 square feet (67,328.0 m2) of retail space and is Vancouver Island's largest shopping centre. The centre has over 150 stores, among them are Hudson's Bay, Walmart Canada, Toys "R" Us, Winners, Sport Chek, Save-On-Foods, Chapters and Landmark Cinemas.
