Garsington

Garsington Manor, in the village of Garsington, near Oxford, England, is a country house, dating from the 17th century. Its fame derives principally from its owner in the early 20th century, the "legendary Ottoline Morrell, who held court from 1915 to 1924".Members of the Bloomsbury Group, the aristocratic Ottoline, and her wealthy husband Philip, were friends with an array of artists, writers and intellectuals, D. H. Lawrence, T. S. Eliot, E. M. Forster, Bertrand Russell, Aldous Huxley, Virginia Woolf and Siegfried Sassoon being among the visitors to their house. The manor was later owned by Leonard Ingrams and from 1989 to 2010 was the setting for an annual summer opera season, the Garsington Opera, which relocated to Wormsley Park in 2011. Garsington is a Grade II* listed building.

Denton is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Cuddesdon and Denton, in the South Oxfordshire district, in Oxfordshire, England. Denton's toponym is derived from the Old English den-tun meaning "valley farmstead". Denton is in a fold of the landscape, between the two hills on which Cuddesdon and Garsington stand. Denton is an ancient manor and had its own civil parish, but it was merged with neighbouring Cuddesdon in the 20th century. Denton was formerly a hamlet in the parish of Cuddesden, in 1866 Denton became a civil parish, on 1 April 1962 the parish was abolished and merged with Cuddesden to form "Cuddesdon and Denton". In 1961 the parish had a population of 112.

Toot Baldon is a village and civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Oxford in Oxfordshire. Since 2012 it has been part of the Baldons joint parish council area, sharing a parish council with the adjacent civil parish of Marsh Baldon. The 2011 Census recorded its population as 148.

Horspath Halt was an intermediate station on the Wycombe Railway which served the Oxfordshire village of Horspath from 1908 to 1915, and then from 1933 to 1963. The opening of the halt was part of an attempt by the Great Western Railway to encourage more passengers on the line at a time when competition from bus services was drawing away patronage. The possibility of reopening the line through Horspath Halt has been explored by Chiltern Railways, the franchise holder for the Chiltern Main Line which runs through Princes Risborough.

Horspath is a village and civil parish in South Oxfordshire about 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) east of the centre of Oxford, England. The 2011 census recorded the parish's population as 1,378.

Bishop Edward King Chapel is the chapel of Ripon College Cuddesdon, a Church of England theological college near Oxford, and of the Sisters of the Communities of St John Baptist and the Good Shepherd, a community of Anglican nuns.The chapel is dedicated to Edward King, who was Principal of Cuddesdon Theological College 1863–73 and Bishop of Lincoln 1885–1910. Following an architectural design competition managed by RIBA Competitions the elliptical building designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects was selected. It was shortlisted and runner-up for the Stirling Prize in 2013 and shortlisted for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture.

Ripon College Cuddesdon is a Church of England theological college in Cuddesdon, a village 5.5 miles (8.9 km) outside Oxford, England. The College trains men and women for ministry in the Church of England: stipendiary, non-stipendiary, local ordained and lay ministry, through a wide range of flexible full-time and part-time programmes.

Waterstock House Training Centre (WHTC) is situated in the village of Waterstock in Oxfordshire, England. It is a well used venue for local and national equestrian training events and clinics. It was once owned by Lars Sederholm and was a very well known training centre for horses and riders alike. Many of the royal family have ridden at WHTC and competitions are regularly held there.

Cuddesdon is a mainly rural village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Cuddesdon and Denton, in the South Oxfordshire district, in the county of Oxfordshire, England. centred 5.5 miles (9 km) ESE of Oxford. It has the largest Church of England clergy training centre, Ripon College Cuddesdon. Residents number approximately 430 in Cuddesdon's nucleated village centre and about 70 in the hamlets of Denton and Chippinghurst (2001 census).

Wheatley Windmill is an 18th-century tower mill at grid reference SP 589 053 between the hamlet of Littleworth and Wheatley in Oxfordshire, England. The windmill has an octagonal plan which narrows to form the circular rotating cap.
