Malaspina Strait is a strait in the northern Gulf of Georgia-Sunshine Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. It separates Texada Island from the upper Sunshine Coast-Malaspina Peninsula area on the adjacent mainland. The strait and the peninsula were named in 1859 by Captain George Henry Richards of the Plumper in honour of Alessandro Malaspina, an Italian noble who commanded one of the exploration ships during the Spanish exploration of the British Columbia Coast. Richards' choice of name was probably influenced by the nearby Malaspina Inlet, named in 1792 by Galiano and Valdés, who had been officers serving under Malaspina.

CJMP-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts at 90.1 FM in Powell River, British Columbia. The station's license was originally owned and operated by the Powell River Model Community Project, and on May 5, 2010, the Powell River Community Radio Society received CRTC approval to acquire Powell River Model Community Project and a new broadcasting licence to continue the operation of CJMP-FM.CJMP-FM received its original approval by the CRTC in 2002, and was granted a new license in 2006. Under the CRTC's licensing regulations for developmental community radio stations, the station was required to submit a new license application rather than a simple renewal of its existing license.

Granite Lake is a small lake in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is located 12 km (7.5 mi) east-northeast of the city of Powell River in New Westminster Land District. It lies west of the south end of Horseshoe Lake.

Saltery Bay Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located southeast of the city of Powell River, and on the north side of the entrance to Jervis Inlet in the central area of that province's Sunshine Coast region.

Blubber Bay is an unincorporated settlement on the northern end of Texada Island at the bay of the same name in the northern Gulf of Georgia on the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The ferry from Powell River docks at Blubber Bay, which sits beside quarry offices, pits and workings which stretch up the hill. The north rim of the bay has the disused workings of BC Cement Company with dock, work area, and various pits stretching out to the headland. There is a museum and archives and a small store located above the ferry landing.
