First Hill is a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is named for the hill on which it is located, which in turn is so named for being the first hill encountered while traveling east from downtown Seattle toward Lake Washington. First Hill is bounded on the west by Interstate 5, beyond which is Downtown, on the north by E. Pike and E. Madison Streets, beyond which is Capitol Hill, and on the south by Yesler Way, beyond which is the International District. The City of Seattle provides conflicting information about its eastern limit, beyond which are Cherry Hill and the Central District. Some describe it as being bounded by Broadway and Boren Avenues, while others describe it as being bounded by 12th Avenue.First Hill has been home to Seattle University, a private Jesuit university, since 1891. Also located on the hill are Northwest School and Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences—two highly regarded private schools—and the Catholic O'Dea High School and Frye Art Museum, as well as several churches that have become city landmarks: Trinity Parish Church, St. James Cathedral, and Seattle First Baptist Church.

O'Dea High School is a Catholic all boys high school founded in 1923 and is located in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood. The school is named after Edward John O'Dea who was bishop of Seattle when the school was built. O'Dea is a part of the Archdiocese of Seattle. Of its 507 students in four grades in 2020, 60% were Catholics, 58% were Caucasian, 13% were African American, and 19% were multi-racial. There are 36 instructors and the student-teacher ratio is 14 to 1. The tuition at O'Dea High School for the 2019-2020 school year was $16,576; the school provides over $1 million in financial aid every year.

Seattle University (SU) is a private Jesuit university in Seattle, Washington. SU is the largest independent university in the Northwestern United States, with over 7,500 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs within eight schools.

The German House also known as the Assay Office and Prosch Hall is a building in the First Hill area of Seattle, Washington, which since its construction in 1893 has variously functioned as an office block, an entertainment hall and, until 1932, the city's assay office through which most of the gold brought to Seattle from the Yukon gold rush was processed into bricks. Following World War II the building returned to the possession of its previous German-American owners; it continues today to be a popular venue for German-themed events in Seattle. It was designated a Seattle Landmark in 1983. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Assay Office in 1972.

Loyola Hall is a building on the Seattle University campus, in the U.S. state of Washington.

St. James Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located at 804 Ninth Avenue in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Seattle and the seat of its archbishop, currently Paul D. Etienne. The cathedral is named for St. James the Greater, patron saint of the archdiocese, and is the third church in the territory presently known as the Archdiocese of Seattle to bear the name. The need for a cathedral in Seattle arose in 1903, when Edward O'Dea, bishop of what was then known as the Diocese of Nesqually (later spelled "Nisqually"), elected to move the Episcopal see from Vancouver, Washington, to Seattle. Construction began in 1905. The Cathedral was dedicated in 1907. In 1916, the cathedral underwent major renovations as a result of the collapse of its dome; other major renovations were completed in 1950 and 1994. The cathedral, rectory, and site were designated city landmarks in 1984.

The Henry H. Dearborn House, also known as the Seattle Dearborn House is a single family residence in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It was designed in 1904 by architect Henry Dozier, and building was completed in 1907 for Seattle real estate developer Henry H. Dearborn. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a Seattle Landmark by the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board. As of 2021, the building is used as the headquarters of Historic Seattle.The Dearborn house is two and a half stories in an American Foursquare style, with stucco exterior. The house has an enclosed veranda and an out building originally built as stables. In 1953 the house was converted to a medical office, and subsequently into office space.

Garrand Hall is a building on the Seattle University campus in the U.S. state of Washington. It opened in 1894.

taqᵂšǝblu Vi Hilbert Ethnobotanical Garden (sometimes simply Vi Hilbert Ethnobotanical Garden) is a botanical garden on the Seattle University campus, in the U.S. state of Washington. The garden is named after Vi Hilbert, a Native American tribal elder of the Upper Skagit, and commemorates her work to document and preserve the Lushootseed language.

The Administration Building is a building on the Seattle University campus, in the U.S. state of Washington.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle is an ecclesiastical territory or archdiocese of the Catholic Church (particularly the Roman Catholic or Latin Church) located in the U.S. state of Washington. Headquartered in Seattle, the archdiocese encompasses all counties in the state west of the Cascade Range. As of 3 September 2019, its archbishop is Paul D. Etienne. Its cathedral of the archiepiscopal see is St. James Cathedral in Seattle, and the former cathedral is the Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater, in Vancouver, Washington. The archdiocese succeeded to the Diocese of Nesqually headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, established in 1850 as a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Oregon City. In 1903, the episcopal see was moved to Seattle, and the diocese's name was changed to Diocese of Seattle in 1907. The diocese was elevated to metropolitan archdiocesan status in 1951.

Centennial Fountain is a fountain at the Seattle University campus by George Tsutakawa, in Seattle, Washington. The fountain was installed in 1989.
