Gary Comer College Prep Middle School is a Level 1 public three-year charter middle school located in the Grand Crossing neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. It is a part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Gary Comer College Prep Middle School is the only middle school campus of the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago, IL. Named after the late Gary Comer, the middle school shares a building with Paul Revere Elementary School in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Gary Comer College Prep is a Level 1 public grade nine through twelve charter high school located in Chicago, Illinois' Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. It is a part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. It is named after the Gary Comer, the founder of Lands' End and philanthropic entrepreneur. Gary Comer founded the Comer Youth Center in 2006, with Gary Comer College Prep opening its doors in 2008, serving grades nine through twelve. In 2011, the Gary Comer College Prep Middle School opened creating two campuses under one school, serving grades six through twelve. Prior to becoming the principal of GCCP, Ms. Kelly founded Gary Comer College Prep Middle School in 2011 and served as the principal there for four years. Before joining Noble, Ms. Kelly served as the Principal of KIPP Indianapolis College Prep, a 5-8 middle school located in the inner-city of Indianapolis, IN.

67th Street was a commuter rail station on the Metra Electric District in Chicago. The station was built on a solid-fill embankment with a pair of island platforms between the inner and outer tracks. Access was made via a pair of stairwells to street level situated underneath the 67th Street viaduct. The station was closed in 1984 due to low ridership. The stairwells to track level were bricked off, however both platforms still exist.

The Shrine of Christ the King, formerly known as St. Clara and St. Gelasius Church, is a historic Catholic church of the Archdiocese of Chicago in the Woodlawn neighborhood. It is now the National Headquarters of the American Province of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, who are restoring the church after a 2015 fire.

The First Presbyterian Church (Chicago) is the first Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is arguably the first church organized in Chicago. It is the oldest continuously operating institution in Chicago, predating by two months the founding of Chicago as a town. The first public school and first Head Start programs in the region were started in its buildings. Early members of the church included Chicago's first pharmacist and Chicago's first public school teacher, as well as the founders of the first regional abolitionist society.The church building is a Gothic Revival cathedral built at 6400 S Kimbark Ave in 1927.

Woodlawn, on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, is one of Chicago's 77 community areas. It is bounded by Lake Michigan to the east, 60th Street to the north, Martin Luther King Drive to the west, and 67th Street to the south. Both Hyde Park Career Academy and the all-boys Catholic Mount Carmel High School are in this neighborhood; much of its eastern portion is occupied by Jackson Park. The Woodlawn section of the park includes the site of the planned Obama Presidential Center, an estimated $500 million investment. The northern edge of Woodlawn contains a portion of the campus of the University of Chicago.

The Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, also known simply as the Orthogenic School or informally as the O-School, is a therapeutic day school for children and adolescents typically classified as emotionally challenged. The O-School specializes in the treatment of youth and help them with their behavioral and emotional problems. The school is located adjacent to the campus of the University of Chicago (UC). The school works with many schools and universities, and has affiliation with several Chicago area schools including the Family Institute at Northwestern University, the School of Social Service Administration of the UC, and the Jane Addams School of Social Work of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

University was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line; The station was located at 1200 East 63rd Street in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. University opened on April 23, 1893. From December 12, 1982, until January 9, 1994, University served as the terminal of the Jackson Park Branch. The station closed on January 9, 1994, when the entire Green Line closed for a renovation project. University did not reopen with the rest of the Green Line on May 12, 1996. University was scheduled to be replaced by a new terminal at Dorchester. Instead the line was cut back to its current terminal at Cottage Grove. The University station was demolished in September 1997, when the City of Chicago demolished the rest of the Jackson Park branch east of Cottage Grove.

The Strand Hotel is a historic apartment hotel at 6315-6323 S. Cottage Grove Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Opened in 1915, the hotel offered both traditional guest rooms and long-term residences for customers who sought luxury amenities in apartment-style housing. Architects Davis & Davis designed the Classical Revival building, which has a red brick exterior with a terra cotta clad first floor, piers outlined in terra cotta, and an entablature and cornice at its roof. The hotel included a restaurant and banquet hall, the latter of which was used as a live music venue for many years. Once part of a major commercial district in Woodlawn, the hotel is now one of its few remnants and the only surviving apartment hotel building in the neighborhood. The hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 2013.

The Tivoli Theatre was a movie palace at 6323 South Cottage Grove Avenue, at East 63rd Street, in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago's South Side. It was the first of the "big three" movie palaces built by the Balaban & Katz theatre chain run by brothers A. J. Balaban, Barney Balaban and their partner Sam Katz, who were also owners of the Rivera Theater (North Side) and the Central Park Theater (West Side), that opened on 16 February 1921.

75th Street (Grand Crossing) is an electrified commuter rail station along the Metra Electric Main Line in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is located at and over both 75th Street and South Chicago Avenue, and is 9.3 miles (15.0 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Grand Crossing is in zone B. As of 2018, the station is the 231st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 14 weekday boardings.75th Street station is the first station on the main line after the South Chicago Branch diverges. The station and the neighborhood that surrounds it were named for the Grand Crossing, an on-grade railway junction constructed in 1853 by mutual agreement between the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway (New York Central) and the Illinois Central Railroad in settlement of a right-of-way feud. By 1912, this on-grade crossing was eliminated when the successor line to the LS & MS was elevated. The now abandoned Nickel Plate Railroad tracks also crisscrossed the area. Another elevated crossing was constructed for the Chicago Skyway in 1958. As of 2011, these lines are owned by Metra, Canadian National Railway, and Norfolk Southern Railway. No parking is available for this station, however the Chicago Transit Authority does provide bus service here.
