The Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, also known simply as the Orthogenic School or informally as the O-School, is a therapeutic day school for children and adolescents typically classified as emotionally challenged. The O-School specializes in the treatment of youth and help them with their behavioral and emotional problems. The school is located adjacent to the campus of the University of Chicago (UC). The school works with many schools and universities, and has affiliation with several Chicago area schools including the Family Institute at Northwestern University, the School of Social Service Administration of the UC, and the Jane Addams School of Social Work of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

University was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line; The station was located at 1200 East 63rd Street in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. University opened on April 23, 1893. From December 12, 1982, until January 9, 1994, University served as the terminal of the Jackson Park Branch. The station closed on January 9, 1994, when the entire Green Line closed for a renovation project. University did not reopen with the rest of the Green Line on May 12, 1996. University was scheduled to be replaced by a new terminal at Dorchester. Instead the line was cut back to its current terminal at Cottage Grove. The University station was demolished in September 1997, when the City of Chicago demolished the rest of the Jackson Park branch east of Cottage Grove.

The Shrine of Christ the King, formerly known as St. Clara and St. Gelasius Church, is a historic Catholic church of the Archdiocese of Chicago in the Woodlawn neighborhood. It is now the National Headquarters of the American Province of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, who are restoring the church after a 2015 fire.

The First Presbyterian Church (Chicago) is the first Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is arguably the first church organized in Chicago. It is the oldest continuously operating institution in Chicago, predating by two months the founding of Chicago as a town. The first public school and first Head Start programs in the region were started in its buildings. Early members of the church included Chicago's first pharmacist and Chicago's first public school teacher, as well as the founders of the first regional abolitionist society.The church building is a Gothic Revival cathedral built at 6400 S Kimbark Ave in 1927.

The Tivoli Theatre was a movie palace at 6323 South Cottage Grove Avenue, at East 63rd Street, in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago's South Side. It was the first of the "big three" movie palaces built by the Balaban & Katz theatre chain run by brothers A. J. Balaban, Barney Balaban and their partner Sam Katz, who were also owners of the Rivera Theater (North Side) and the Central Park Theater (West Side), that opened on 16 February 1921.

The Strand Hotel is a historic apartment hotel at 6315-6323 S. Cottage Grove Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Opened in 1915, the hotel offered both traditional guest rooms and long-term residences for customers who sought luxury amenities in apartment-style housing. Architects Davis & Davis designed the Classical Revival building, which has a red brick exterior with a terra cotta clad first floor, piers outlined in terra cotta, and an entablature and cornice at its roof. The hotel included a restaurant and banquet hall, the latter of which was used as a live music venue for many years. Once part of a major commercial district in Woodlawn, the hotel is now one of its few remnants and the only surviving apartment hotel building in the neighborhood. The hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 2013.

Burton–Judson Courts (BJ) is a dormitory located on the University of Chicago campus. The neo-Gothic style structure was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm of Zantzinger, Borie & Medary, and was completed in 1931 at a cost of $1,756,287.Burton–Judson Courts is built around two courtyards that are named after the university's second and third presidents, Harry Pratt Judson and Ernest DeWitt Burton. Burton-Judson contains six houses: Chamberlin, Coulter, Dodd-Mead, Linn-Mathews, Salisbury, and Vincent. In addition to student rooms, the building contains a library, lounge rooms, and apartments for resident heads and the resident deans.

The Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice, formerly called the School of Social Service Administration (SSA), is the school of social work at the University of Chicago.

Cottage Grove (formerly East 63rd-Cottage Grove) is an 'L' station and the current terminus of the CTA Green Line's East 63rd branch, located in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The station, situated at 800 E. 63rd Street, opened on April 23, 1893. This station is the current terminal of the East 63rd branch of the Green Line, and the easternmost station on the 'L' system.

The University of Chicago Law School is the law school of the University of Chicago, a private research university in Chicago, Illinois. It employs more than 180 full-time and part-time faculty and hosts more than 600 students in its Juris Doctor program, while also offering the Master of Laws, Master of Studies in Law and Doctor of Juridical Science degrees in law. The law school has the third highest percentage of recent graduates clerking for federal judges after Stanford Law School and Yale Law School.The law school's chief publication is the University of Chicago Law Review, which is among the top five most cited law reviews in the world. Students edit three other independent law journals, with another three journals overseen by faculty. The law school was originally housed in Stuart Hall, a Gothic-style limestone building on the campus's main quadrangles. Since 1959, it has been housed in an Eero Saarinen-designed building across the Midway Plaisance from the main campus of the University of Chicago. The building was expanded in 1987 and again in 1998. It was renovated in 2008, preserving most of Saarinen's original structure. Longstanding members of the law school faculty have included Cass Sunstein and Richard Epstein, two of the three most-cited legal scholars of the early 21st century, 44th U.S. President Barack Obama and U.S. Supreme Court justices Antonin Scalia, John Paul Stevens and Elena Kagan.

The Washington Park National Bank Building is a Neoclassical building at 6300 S. Cottage Grove in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood. It was designed by Albert A. Schwartz and was completed in 1924. Initial plans, unveiled in 1922, called for a nine story building, designed by Albert A. Schwartz, with work to begin in August 1922. However, these plans were changed, and its present design was later revealed in 1923.
