67th Street station (Illinois)

Loretto Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Woodlawn-Chicago is a former Catholic high school for girls in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood.

The Stony Island Trust and Savings Bank Building is a historic bank building at 6760 S. Stony Island Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The building opened in 1923 for the Stony Island Trust and Savings Bank, which was founded in 1917 and had outgrown its first building. The bank was one of Chicago's many neighborhood banks in the early twentieth century; as Illinois law at the time barred banks from opening branches, smaller standalone banks provided the residents and businesses of Chicago's outlying neighborhoods with nearby banking services. Architect William Gibbons Uffendell designed the bank in the Neoclassical style, by far the most popular for bank buildings at the time. Uffendell's design features a granite exterior, a temple front with four Doric columns, and an entablature topped by a parapet. The bank folded in 1931 as the Great Depression disrupted the city's banking industry; for the remainder of the 20th century, the building was alternately used by other banks and left vacant for extended periods.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 2013. It is now home to the Stony Island Arts Bank, an art gallery and library.

The First Presbyterian Church (Chicago) is the first Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is arguably the first church organized in Chicago. It is the oldest continuously operating institution in Chicago, predating by two months the founding of Chicago as a town. The first public school and first Head Start programs in the region were started in its buildings. Early members of the church included Chicago's first pharmacist and Chicago's first public school teacher, as well as the founders of the first regional abolitionist society.The church building is a Gothic Revival cathedral built at 6400 S Kimbark Ave in 1927.

The Shrine of Christ the King, formerly known as St. Clara and St. Gelasius Church, is a historic Catholic church of the Archdiocese of Chicago in the Woodlawn neighborhood. It is now the National Headquarters of the American Province of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, who are restoring the church after a 2015 fire.

63rd Street station is a commuter rail station within the city of Chicago that serves the Metra Electric Line north to Millennium Station and south to University Park, Blue Island, and the Chicago neighborhood of South Chicago and the South Shore Line to Gary and South Bend, Indiana. Most South Shore Line trains do not stop at this station, except for one inbound train during the AM rush and two outbound trains during the PM rush on weekdays. As of 2018, the station is the 169th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 167 weekday boardings.

Dorchester was a station on the Jackson Park branch of the Chicago "L". The station opened on April 23, 1893 and closed on January 13, 1973, as part of a group of budget-related CTA station closings. Dorchester was scheduled to be the new terminal of the Jackson Park Branch, but the CTA decided to make Cottage Grove the new terminal, because the Reverend Arthur Brazier and some other Woodlawn residents thought the 'L' structure over East 63rd Street would further blight Woodlawn and prevent redevelopment.

University was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line; The station was located at 1200 East 63rd Street in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. University opened on April 23, 1893. From December 12, 1982, until January 9, 1994, University served as the terminal of the Jackson Park Branch. The station closed on January 9, 1994, when the entire Green Line closed for a renovation project. University did not reopen with the rest of the Green Line on May 12, 1996. University was scheduled to be replaced by a new terminal at Dorchester. Instead the line was cut back to its current terminal at Cottage Grove. The University station was demolished in September 1997, when the City of Chicago demolished the rest of the Jackson Park branch east of Cottage Grove.

Oak Woods Cemetery is a large lawn cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 1035 E. 67th Street, in the Greater Grand Crossing area of Chicago's South Side. Established 171 years ago on February 12, 1853, it covers 183 acres (74 ha).Oak Woods is the final resting place of several famous Americans including Harold Washington, Ida B. Wells, Jesse Owens, and Enrico Fermi. It is also the setting for a mass grave and memorial for Confederate prisoners of war from Camp Douglas, called the Confederate Mound.

Stony Island station (also known as Stony Island Avenue station) is the first electrified commuter rail station along the South Chicago Branch of the Metra Electric Line. The station is located in the median of 71st Street west of the intersection with Stony Island Avenue, and is 9.10 miles (14.65 km) away from the northern terminus at Randolph Street Station. In Metra's fare-based system, Stony Island is in zone B. As of 2018, Stony Island is the 189th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 99 weekday boardings.Along with Bryn Mawr station, Stony Island is one of two stations that run along the median of 71st Street. South Shore station is located just southeast of that end of that median. No parking lots are available for this station; however there are bus connections provided by the Chicago Transit Authority. The station is mentioned in Robert A. Heinlein's 1942 novella The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag.

Jackson Park was a station on the Jackson Park Branch of the Chicago "L". The station opened on May 12, 1893, and closed on March 4, 1982, when "L" service on the Jackson Park branch was suspended due to structural defects in the Dorchester bridge over the Illinois Central Railroad. The station was later demolished. The station was the terminal of the Jackson Park branch from October 31, 1893 until March 4, 1982.
