Westwick Lakes is a 9.8-hectare (24-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of North Walsham in Norfolk.Many wildfowl over-winter on these five man-made lakes, which have unusual aquatic flora. Plants on the lake margins include lesser reedmace, soft rush and sweet flag.The site is private with no public access.

His Majesty's Prison Bure, more commonly known as HM Prison Bure, and often abbreviated to HMP Bure, is a Category C men's prison, located in the parish of Scottow in Norfolk, England. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and became operational in November 2009.

Westwick is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, situated to the south of North Walsham. It covers an area of 4.88 km2 (1.88 sq mi) and had a population of 53 in 29 households at the 2001 census. The population remained less than 100 at the 2011 Census and was included in the civil parish of Swanton Abbott. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of North Norfolk. The villages name means 'West specialised farm'. Westwick House was built in 1704 for John Berney and later passed (through marriage) to the Petres family. It is now owned by the Alexander family who own the entire estate. They have done so for 74 years.

Royal Air Force Coltishall, more commonly known as RAF Coltishall (IATA: CLF, ICAO: EGYC), is a former Royal Air Force station located 10 miles (16 kilometres) north-north-east of Norwich, in the English county of Norfolk, East Anglia, which operated from 1939 to 2006.It was a fighter airfield in the Second World War and afterwards, a station for night fighters, then ground attack aircraft until closure. After longstanding speculation, the future of the station was sealed once the Ministry of Defence announced that the Eurofighter Typhoon, a rolling replacement aircraft, displacing the ageing SEPECAT Jaguar, would not be located there. The last of the Jaguar squadrons left on 1 April 2006, and the station finally closed, one month early and £10 million under budget, on 30 November 2006 (2006-11-30). The station motto was Aggressive in Defence. The station badge was a stone tower surmounted by a mailed fist grasping three bind-bolts (blunt arrows), which symbolised a position of strength in defence of the homeland, indicative of the aggressive spirit which Coltishall fighter aircraft were prepared to shoot down the enemy.

The Battle of North Walsham was a medieval battle fought on 25 or 26 June 1381, near the town of North Walsham in the English county of Norfolk, in which a large group of rebellious local peasants was confronted by the heavily armed forces of Henry le Despenser, Bishop of Norwich. The battle is significant for being the last occurrence of any major resistance during the English Peasants' Revolt. Despenser succeeded in suppressing the rebellion that broke out throughout East Anglia that summer. His force at first consisted of his own retinue, but numbers swelled as aristocrats saw both his victories and the harsh retribution meted out to the rebels. He moved across East Anglia towards Norwich and then onwards to North Walsham to deal with the rebels, led by Geoffrey Litster, the so-called 'King of the Commons'. At North Walsham the rebels were decisively defeated by Despenser's men. Medieval chronicles differ in their accounts of exactly what happened at North Walsham. After the battle, Litster was captured and executed by Despenser, but the records of the time and subsequent histories disagree on the fate of his rebel army.

Scottow is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is located some 2.5 miles north of Coltishall and 5 miles south of North Walsham. The villages name means 'Scots' hill-spur'.The civil parish has an area of 8.59 km2 (3.32 sq mi) and in 2001 had a population of 1,774 in 357 households, the population decreasing to 1,424 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of North Norfolk.Most of the former Royal Air Force Coltishall military airbase lay within the parish boundaries of Scottow. Today, part of the RAF base has been converted into HMP Bure, a prison for adult males, and the rest has been used to create Scottow Enterprise Park focused on helping businesses to grow through providing space in the form of offices and workshops, as well as business support.

Felmingham railway station is a former railway station in Norfolk, England. It was closed in 1959. It served the village of Felmingham.

Bryant's Heath, Felmingham is a 17.7-hectare (44-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of North Walsham in Norfolk.Most of this site is dry acidic heath on glacial sands, but there are also areas of wet heath, fen and carr woodland. Several unusual mosses and lichens have been recorded in wetter areas.A public footpath between Felmingham and North Walsham goes through the heath.

Felmingham Cutting is a 1-hectare (2.5-acre) Local Nature Reserve west of North Walsham in Norfolk. It is owned by North Norfolk District Council and managed by Butterfly Conservation.Sixteen species of butterfly breed on this railway cutting, which is on a former line of the Midland and Great Northern Railway, and is now part of the Weavers Way long distance footpath.There is access along the Weavers Way from North Walsham.

Skeyton is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village and parish of Skeyton had in the 2001 census a population of 200, increasing slightly to 207 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of North Norfolk. Skeyton lies 4 miles (6.4 km) east of the market town of Aylsham, 13.5 miles (21.7 km) south of Cromer, 13.4 miles (21.6 km) north of Norwich and 129 miles (208 km) north-east of London. The nearest railway station is at North Walsham for the Bittern Line which runs between Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich. The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport.

Buxton with Lamas is a civil parish in Broadland in the English county of Norfolk. It comprises the villages of Buxton lying to the west of the River Bure and Lamas on the eastern side of the river. At this point the River Bure is crossed by the Bure Valley Railway on a 105-foot (32 m) long girder bridge. Buxton has a halt on the railway. The former railway station on the Great Eastern Railway was called Buxton Lamas prior to closure of the line. For local government purposes, the two villages jointly elect Buxton with Lamas Parish Council, and fall within the area covered by Broadland District Council and Norfolk County Council. The civil parish had a population (including Little Hautbois) of 1,685 at the 2001 census, falling marginally to 1,684 at the 2011 census. A rather grand white water mill also crosses between Buxton and Lamas.
