Dayanand Anglo Vaidik Mahavidyalaya (D.A.V. College) is a college in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, established in 1919 by Lala Diwan Chand, is the second oldest college in the city. The college is situated in Civil Lines, opposite the Green Park Stadium. It is affiliated with Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University (formerly Kanpur University), formerly with the University of Agra. The college is accredited by the Indian NAAC. Manas Pandey is present principal of this college. It is managed by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society.

UP Stock Exchange (UPSE) is a Kanpur-based stock exchange. It occupied a prominent place among the Stock Exchanges in India. The Exchange was inaugurated on 27 August 1982 by the then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. It played an important role in the development of the capital market of North India. Initially, it had only 350 members which grew up to 540. UPSE is the only stock exchange in Uttar Pradesh and the membership is not restricted to the people of Uttar Pradesh only. Members living outside Kanpur has contributed a lot by creating the equity cult in whole of the Uttar Pradesh.

British India Corporation Limited (BIC) is a central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The cpsu produces textiles for use by civilians and the Indian armed forces. It manufactures the popular "Lal-imli" and "Dhariwal" brands of woollen products. The cpsu was established in 1872 or 1876 by Sir Alexander MacRobert as a cpsu when he combined his six companies into one enterprise. MacRobert died on 22 June 1922 and his widow, Rachel, Lady MacRobert, assumed the role of director until her eldest son, Alasdair, became chairman in 1937.Its date of incorporation in the Registrar of Companies is 24 February 1920. In 1981, it was nationalised and taken over by the Government of India. It has not generated profit since 1989.Headquartered in Kanpur, BIC nominally operates two woollen mills in Kanpur and Dhariwal (Punjab). In 2006 the cpsu employed over 2,700 people and had aggregated revenues of ₹373 million (US$4.7 million). It ceased manufacturing in 2005 but still employs 1,800 people. New weaving machines installed in 2005 have never been used.

Christ Church College, Kanpur is a college established in 1866, affiliated with Kanpur University, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Earlier in 1840, SPG Mission School was established to educated Christian students. Later its name turned to present one. It is managed by Church of North India (C.N.I). Agra Diocese, managed by the Christ Church College Society, Kanpur.

Bishambhar Nath Sanatan Dharam Inter College is an intermediate college in Chunniganj, Kanpur, India. It educates students up to class XII. It opened in 1939. The college provides education in Science, Commerce, Arts and other subjects. Dr. Ram Chandra Singh is the principal. It is named after Rai Bhadur Bishambhar Nath who was an industrialist, banner, freedom fighter and social worker. He devoted his life to the cause of national integration, and to the spread of the Gandhian way of life.

Generalganj (Assembly constituency) was a legislative assembly of Uttar Pradesh. As a consequence of the orders of the Delimitation Commission, Generalganj (Assembly constituency) ceased to exist in 2012.

It is one of the oldest and premier textile Institute of North India, established in 1914. It offers professional degrees of bachelor's of technology (4years) in 4 streams Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Man Made Fibre Technology and Textile Engineering; and Master's in technology (2 years) in textile technology and textile chemistry to students selected through a State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) conducted by Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) every year. It made a modest start in 1914.

Nana Rao Park / Company Bagh (Hindi: नाना राव पार्क / कम्पनी बाग़, कानपुर ) is a public city park in Kanpur, the industrial hub of Uttar Pradesh, India, built after Indian independence in honor of Nana Sahib. Prior to Indian Independence the location was known as Memorial Well and commemorated the massacre of British women and children during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

It has been the location for many public meetings and political rallies in Kanpur from the early twentieth century.
