The Necessidades Palace (Portuguese: Palácio das Necessidades) is a historic building in the Largo do Rilvas, a public square in Lisbon, Portugal. It serves as headquarters of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry. The Palace has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1983.

Alcântara-Terra railway station (Portuguese: Estação Ferroviária de Alcântara-Terra), is a railway station on the Cintura Line in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The station is connected by foot to Alcântara-Mar railway station on the Cascais Line.

The Museum of the Orient (Portuguese: Museu do Oriente) in Lisbon, Portugal is a museum of Asian art. The museum opened in May, 2008, and is located in a refurbished industrial building on the Alcântara waterfront. The collection includes Indonesian textiles and shadowplays, Japanese screens, antique snuff bottles, crucifixes made in Asia for Western export, and the Kwok On Collection of masks, costumes, and accessories.

Alcântara (Portuguese pronunciation: [aɫˈkɐ̃tɐɾɐ]) is a freguesia (civil parish) and district of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Located in western Lisbon, Alcântara is to the east of Ajuda and Belém and west of Estrela and Campo de Ourique. Alcântara had a population in 2011 of 13,943.

Prazeres Cemetery (Portuguese: Cemitério dos Prazeres) is one of the largest cemeteries in Lisbon, Portugal; it is located in the freguesia (civil parish) of Estrela, in western Lisbon (formerly, within the parish of Prazeres). It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and famous cemeteries in the world. It is home to the Mausoleum of the Dukes of Palmela, the largest mausoleum in Europe.Prazeres Cemetery is the resting place for many famous personalities, including Prime Ministers and Presidents of Portugal, notable literary figures such as author Ramalho Ortigão, famous artists like painters Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro or Roque Gameiro, prominent musical figures like pianist Alexandre Rey Colaço or composer João Domingos Bomtempo, and numerous other notable burials, especially from the Portuguese nobility.

St Andrew's Church is the only congregation of the Church of Scotland in Portugal. It seeks to provide English-speaking Reformed Christian worship and pastoral care to a multinational community.

The Luso-American Development Foundation (Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento – FLAD) is a private, financially autonomous Portuguese foundation, established in 1985 by the Portuguese State. Its objective is to promote the development of Portugal, the Portuguese people, and communities of Portuguese descent through cooperation with the USA.

The Port of Lisbon (Portuguese: Porto de Lisboa) is the third-largest port in Portugal, mainly on the north sides of the Tagus's large natural harbour that opens west, through a short strait, onto the Atlantic Ocean. Each part lies against central parts of the Portuguese capital Lisbon. Due to its strategic site between Europe, Africa, and the Atlantic, it is one of the most accessed and used in Europe. For container ships it begins with a 1080-metre mooring, with cranes, south of a thin, rectangular, pleasure boat marina. It is north-east of the centre of the strait-spanning suspension bridge, the Ponte 25 de Abril. Continuations are to the north-east. These are a bank-side cruise ship terminal next to the old Alfama district, followed by multi-use harbour-side terminals at Xabregas, Grilo, Beato ([ˈbjatu])) and Braço do Prata, Marvila (Lisbon). Denser military docks are beyond a headland to the south-east – Lisbon Naval Base, long colloquially synonymous with Alfeite, a slightly wider, once royally-owned, district.

The Alcântara Maritime Terminal (Portuguese: Gare Marítima de Alcântara), located in Alcântara in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, is a former ocean liner terminal building near the mouth of the Tagus River. Together with the Rocha Conde de Óbidos Maritime Terminal, about 800 metres (870 yd) to the east, it was designed by architect Porfírio Pardal Monteiro and built in the 1940s as part of the modernization of the ports serving Lisbon. Both terminals feature large murals by Almada Negreiros. No longer used for passengers, the Alcântara terminal now contains an interpretation centre that describes the history of the terminals and the development of the murals by Negreiros.
