The Catholic University of Portugal (Portuguese: Universidade Católica Portuguesa, pronounced [univɨɾsiˈðad(ɨ) kɐˈtɔlikɐ puɾtuˈɣezɐ]), also referred to as Católica or UCP for short, is a concordat university (non-state-run university with concordat status) headquartered in Lisbon and with four locations: Lisbon, Braga Porto and Viseu. Besides the four centres in Portugal, UCP also has the University of Saint Joseph in Macau as its affiliate. It is recognized as the best Portuguese university according to the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Ranking, with more than 11 000 students and 7 549 postgraduate students. The current and 6th Rector of UCP is Professor Isabel Capeloa Gil.

In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Aldoar, Foz do Douro e Nevogilde. The population in 2011 was 10,997, in an area of 1.88 km². It became a parish in 1836. It is located in the western part of Porto, next to the mouth of the Douro river and the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the most affluent areas of city Porto, and known for being inhabited by the upper classes.

The Lighthouse of São Miguel-o-Anjo (Portuguese: Farol de São Miguel-o-Anjo) is a former hermitage and 16th century lighthouse, in the civil parish of Aldoar, Foz do Douro e Nevogilde, municipality of Porto, in the Portuguese Norte Region. The lighthouse of São Miguel-o-Anjo is Portugal's oldest existing lighthouse and one of the oldest in Europe. Designed by Italian architect Francesco da Cremona, the project was completed in 1538.

The Douro (UK: , US: , Portuguese: [ˈdo(w)ɾu]; Spanish: Duero [ˈdweɾo]; Latin: Durius) is the highest-flow river of the Iberian Peninsula. It rises near Duruelo de la Sierra in Soria Province, central Spain, meanders south briefly then flows generally west through the north-west part of central Spain and into northern Portugal, to its mouth at Porto, the second largest city of Portugal. At its mouth it meets the Atlantic Ocean. The river is notable for the scenic Douro railway line, tourism more generally and – relatedly – the creation and production of port – a mildly fortified wine –, grapes, conventional wines and other agricultural produce. A small tributary of the river has the Côa Valley Paleolithic Art site which is considered important to the archaeological pre-historic patrimony, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within Spain, it flows through the middle of the autonomous community of Castile and León, with the basin spanning through the northern half of the Meseta Central. The latter includes wine producing areas such as the Ribera del Duero DOP.

The Lycée Français International de Porto is a French international school in Porto, Portugal. Its education ranges from maternelle (preschool) to lycée (senior high school). The French School of Porto was formally inaugurated on 30 October 1963 by the Ambassador of France in Lisbon M. De Beauverger.

Serralves is a cultural institution located in Porto, Portugal, and one of the most important institutions worldwide, ranking in the list of most-visited art museums in the world. It includes a Contemporary Art Museum, a Park and a Villa, each one an example of contemporary architecture, Modernism, and Art Deco architecture. The Museum, designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira, is now the second most visited museum in Portugal (almost 1 million visitors per year) and one of the most relevant in the contemporary art circuit in Europe.

Lordelo do Ouro e Massarelos is a civil parish in the municipality of Porto, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos. The population in 2011 was 29,059, in an area of 5.59 km².

Lordelo do Ouro (Portuguese pronunciation: [loɾˈdelu du ˈowɾu]) is a former civil parish in the municipality of Porto, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Lordelo do Ouro e Massarelos. The population in 2011 was 22,270, in an area of 3.64 km². It overlooks the Douro river. Local landmarks include the São Martinho de Lordelo Church, the Serralves park and modern art museum, along with other modern architecture buildings. The church is very important to the local inhabitants and services are still held there.

Circuito da Boavista is a street circuit in Porto, Portugal, which was used twice for the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix. The original course began at the harbor-front "Esplanada do Rio de Janeiro", continued on "Avenida da Boavista", (hence the circuit's name), and then twisted its way through small neighborhoods back to the start-finish line. The first Grand Prix was held in 1958, and saw an act of sportsmanship by Stirling Moss. Moss came to the defense of his countryman and title rival Mike Hawthorn, who faced a penalty for having driven towards oncoming traffic after a spin. Moss persuaded the stewards not to disqualify Hawthorn, who retained his second place and 6 points. Hawthorn eventually won the drivers championship by 1 point over Moss. The 1960 running was a race of attrition, with only four cars finishing within five laps of winner Jack Brabham. Accidents and mechanical problems ended the day early for future champions John Surtees, Phil Hill, Graham Hill and others.

Aldoar, Foz do Douro e Nevogilde is a civil parish in the municipality of Porto, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde. The population in 2011 was 28,858, in an area of 6.27 km².
