Imko Binnerts is a defunct restaurant located in the Grand Winston Hotel in Rijswijk, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in both 2005 and 2006.Head chef of the restaurant was Imko Binnerts. He is a chef specializing in fresh fish and seafood. Binnerts left the restaurant in 2006, because he was not feeling in the right spot. He moved to "Schmidt Zeevis", a major fish supplier in Rotterdam.Before starting as an employee at the Grand Winston Hotel, he had his own restaurant Imko's in IJmuiden that went bankrupt in 2004.

Rijswijk (Dutch: [ˈrɛisʋɛik] (listen)), formerly known as Ryswick ( RIZ-wik) in English, is a city and municipality in the Western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Its population was 53,467 in 2019, and it has an area of 14.49 km2 (5.59 sq mi), 0.53 km2 (0.20 sq mi) of which is water. The municipality also includes the former villages 't Haantje and Sion, currently also known as Rijswijk-Buiten.

The Tuinbouwschool Huis te Lande was a horticultural school in Rijswijk, Netherlands, founded in 1907 by Jacoba Hingst. It was the first and only horticultural school for girls and women in the Netherlands to give girls the opportunity to learn how to grow flowers, fruits and vegetables, as the existing horticultural schools of that time were not accessible to them.

Spoorwijk is a residential neighbourhood in the Laak district of The Hague, Netherlands. Its name, literally rail neighbourhood or track neighbourhood, originated from the fact that the area borders the Amsterdam–Haarlem–Rotterdam railway on the west. De Broodfabriek (English: The Bread Factory) is an exhibition and convention center in the Dutch city of Rijswijk. It was founded in 1996 by Henk van der Straaten (co-founder of the former Konmar supermarket chain) as the Darling Market, a recreation of the Paddy's Markets in Haymarket, near Sydney's Darling Harbour, which he encountered during a trip to Australia).In later years it became known as a venue for many fairs such as the Gothic & Fantasy Beurs (English: Gothic & Fantasy Fair) which is held there since 2003 (as of October 2018 renamed Fantasy Fest.) Since 2019 the festival has expanded from one to two music stages that host international folk artists. The main stage, is Fantasy Fest Stage, presenting larger amplified acts. The smaller stage is the 'Friendly Folk Stage', sponsored by local record label, Friendly Folk Records, it serves as a podium for smaller acoustic acts. The exhibition part of the venue later became known as Expo Rijswijk and after that Beurshal Haaglanden. The current name refers to the building's previous use as a bread factory of Meneba.The Darling Market was discontinued in 2010.

The Needle of Ryswick or Rijswijk (Dutch: Naald van Rijswijk) is an obelisk in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, commemorating the Treaty of Ryswick (September 1697). The monument is at the location of the Huis ter Nieuwburg, the palace where the peace treaty was signed. It was built of materials from Huis ter Nieuwburg in 1792 to 1794. The palace was demolished in 1790 due to neglect.

Paul van Waarden is a defunct restaurant in Rijswijk, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2002 and retained that rating until 2012. The loss of the Michelin star for 2013 was a real shock for the restaurant and they requested a discussion with Michelin. The restaurant closed due to a bankruptcy.For 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 13 out of 20 points.Head chef of Paul van Waarden was Paul van Waarden.Originally, the restaurant was located in Wassenaar and traded under the name De keuken van Waarden. In 2001, the restaurant moved to Rijswijk and changed its name.

The Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC) is Europe's largest primate animal testing research centre. It is a scientific research institute that performs research that contributes to the identification and development of new medicines against deadly diseases. It is located in Rijswijk (South Holland) and employs about 110 people. The BPRC is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Before it became an independent foundation on December 7, 1994, it was part of the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. The main research areas are Immunobiology, Parasitology, Virology, Ethology and Alternatives for Animal Research. The BPRC houses rhesus macaques and marmosets to be used in biomedical research involving AIDS, malaria, hepatitis, tuberculosis and auto-immune diseases. In 2002 the Dutch government forbade any further testing on chimpanzees, though it allowed trials already in progress to end. In 2015, BPRC was reported to use about 200 monkeys a year for experiments. Sion is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Rijswijk. It is located on the border with Delft. In 1345, the monastery Sancta Maria in Monte Sion was built in this area. It was demolished on the orders of the city of Delft in 1572, when Spanish troops approached the city, and was never rebuilt. In the 17th century, an estate was built on the grounds of the former monastery, and in the 19th century, it was divided into small parts and made into farms. Since 2013, Rijswijk has started construction of several new neighborhoods in the area formerly called Sion.

Niven is a restaurant in Rijswijk, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in the period 2011–present.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 14 out of 20 points in 2012, two points less than in 2011.Head chef of Niven is Niven Kunz.The restaurant is a member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise.Chef Niven Kunz was formerly part owner of the Michelin starred 't Raethuys in Wateringen. A business conflict with his parents, also part owner of the restaurant, forced him to leave. After a stint at De Librije, where he had trained before, he opened Niven in the building that used to house Michelin starred 't Ganzenest. The official opening was performed by then mayor of Rijswijk mrs. G.W. van der Wel-Markerink on 11 May 2011.Niven was the first Michelin starred restaurant in the Netherlands to land a deal with discount-website Groupon. Besides being highly successful for chef Kunz, he sold 3500 covers in ten hours, it paved the way for other Michelin starred restaurants to land deals with Groupon.On the first of April 2020 it was announced that Niven went bankrupt. This happened during the COVID19-Crisis in 2020 although the crisis and its subsequent lock-down didn't cause Niven to go bankrupt it was the straw that broke the camels back.
