Denbury is a village in Teignbridge district of Devon, England. The village is situated between Totnes and Newton Abbot, approximately ten miles from Torquay. Denbury Hill (Locally known as Denbury Down) is an Iron Age Hill fort which is located to the south west of the village. The area has a long history of human habitation, with Denbury Manor being owned by Ealdred, Archbishop of York, before the Norman conquest of England in 1066. The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in the village dates from 12th century.The United States Army built a camp and shooting range in the village in the run up to the invasion of Europe in 1944. In 1967 The Royal Corps of Signals, Junior Leaders Regiment left Denbury Camp (1955 - 1967), 47 Lt Regiment, Royal Artillery (returning from Aden) moved in around September 1967 and finally left in about April 1969 when they moved to Houndstone Camp, Yeovil. They were part of 24 Brigade. Thereafter, Channings Wood Prison was constructed on most of the site. Today, Channings Wood is a Category C prison for men from all over South Western England, and is the biggest employer in Denbury. The other part of the former military base is now the Denbury Range, home of the Torbay Fullbore Club.The village today comprises 300 households including farms in the surrounding area. The village forms part of the Denbury and Torbryan civil parish. The village also is near the centre of Ambrook electoral ward. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 6,180.

Denbury Hill is the name of an Iron Age hill fort near the village of Denbury in Devon, England. The fort is south east of the village, occupying the entire hilltop of Denbury Down at 160 metres above sea level. It is surrounded on the south and east sides by high embankments. In the centre of the enclosure there are two large burial mounds.The name Denbury means burh of the men of Devon, and the hill fort was probably re-occupied some time after the Romans left England and before the Norman conquest: it may have been used by the British as a centre of resistance against the Saxons, or it may have been occupied by the Saxons themselves. We do not know because it has not been excavated.

West Ogwell Church in Ogwell, Devon, England was built in the 13th century. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is now a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was declared redundant on 1 June 1981, and was vested in the Trust on 27 October 1982.The chancel and nave were built around 1300. The two stage west tower, with its battlemented parapet, was added around 1400.The interior includes a 13th-century sedilia and a Jacobean pulpit. The other features including the box pews, tower screen and curved communion rails are late Georgian.The church was used for filming of the 2014 British horror film The Borderlands.

Holy Trinity Church in Torbryan, near Ipplepen in Devon, England, was built in the 15th century. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is now a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was vested in the Trust on 1 July 1987.The church was built between 1450 and 1470. It has a Perpendicular three-stage tower with an octagonal stair turret on the south wall. The vestry was added in the 19th century.The interior includes a medieval carved rood-screen, with panels showing paintings of saints and stained glass from the same period. In August 2013 thieves "hacked out" two of the panels, showing images of Saint Victor of Marseilles and Saint Margaret of Antioch. Another panel, damaged during the theft, bears an image of a female saint. The CCT said it feared the panels could be sold abroad. The theft, from what was described as "... probably the best preserved medieval rood screen in the country", was widely reported by the media. The panels were later recovered by the police, restored and reinstalled.

Puritan's Pit (also known as Preacher's Pit, The Devil's Pit or Gruti's Pit) is a large steep-sided pit in the south side of the valley of the River Lemon in Bradley Woods, just west of the town of Newton Abbot in Devon, England. It is probably a collapsed limestone cavern and although it is about 12 metres deep and some 50 metres across at its widest, it is invisible from the river and the main path on the other side.

West Ogwell is a village and former civil parish and manor in Devon, England, located 2 miles south-west of the town of Newton Abbot and 1 mile west of the village of East Ogwell. It is now in the civil parish of Ogwell, administered by Teignbridge District Council. The church and manor house "lie hidden away on their own".

Berry's Wood is an Iron Age hill fort situated close to Newton Abbot in Devon, England. The fort is situated at about 75 metres above sea level on a commanding promontory above the River Lemon with views down the Teign Estuary. It lies on the hilltop above Bradley Manor. The fort was first described in print in 1950 by Aileen Fox, who said that its defences consist of a single limestone rampart and a ditch. Its main entrance at the south-eastern end is approached by a sunken lane, and at the north-western end there is a postern. It encloses an area of about 11 acres and the remains of huts can be seen inside.

Bradley is a medieval manor house in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. It is set amongst woodland and meadows in the valley of the River Lemon about a half mile to the west of the main town. The house is now in the ownership of the National Trust.
