Laing Art Gallery

The Blue Carpet is a piece of public art in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, designed by Thomas Heatherwick. It is an area of public open space in front of the Laing Art Gallery, close to the main shopping and nightclub areas, paved with glass-and-resin slabs which curve up at the space's edges, giving the appearance of a fabric carpet. Although classified as a piece of public art, it is closer to an urban design feature.

Northumbria University (legally the University of Northumbria at Newcastle) is a UK public university located in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East of England. It has been a university since 1992, but has its origins in the Rutherford College, founded in 1877.Northumbria University is primarily based within City Campus located in Newcastle upon Tyne city centre with other campuses based in Coach Lane, London and Amsterdam. It is organised into four faculties — Design and Social Sciences, Business and Law, Engineering and Environment and Health and Life Sciences. As of 2019, Northumbria has around 26,450 full-time students and 2,684 academic and research staff. It had a consolidated income of £254 million in 2018/19. Northumbria is a member of AACSB, the Association of Commonwealth, Universities UK and the Wallace Group. Northumbria is ranked number one among UK universities in the Times Higher Education's Young Universities Rankings (2020).

Northumberland and Durham Family History Society is a family history society that covers Northumberland, Durham, and Tyne and Wear in the North-East of England. It was created in 1975, and its aims are to "promote interest in family history amongst its members and the general public. It produces a quarterly Journal, and has a wide range of publications, parish records in particular, for sale. It is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.

Worswick Street bus station was a bus station in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The bus station was constructed on a slope.

Newcastle Gaol was a custodial building in Carliol Square in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. The building, which was the principal prison for the local area, was demolished in 1925.

Burt Hall is a public building in Northumberland Road in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Army Riding School was a military installation in Northumberland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Northern Pride is the biggest LGBT Pride festival in the North East of England, hosted in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is held in July every year on the Town Moor, just outside the City Centre. The event is free for all who attend and offers music, stalls and a safe space for LGBT+ people, their families and friends. Northern Pride is a celebration of LGBT+ culture, history and societal diversity. Northern Pride presents Newcastle Pride each year which is a 3-day festival on Newcastle Town Moor and in Times Square in the Centre for Life. Along with the Main Stage the festival offers a Family Zone, Youth Zone, Trans Zone, Women's Zone, Steve Paske Health Zone, Cabaret Tent, Sports Zone. Bear Zone, Dance Tent, Market Stalls and Fair ground. In the run up to the Pride weekend Northern Pride holds a number of satellite events and just after the Pride weekend they hold the ever-popular Paws with Pride pet show.

Newcastle New Bridge Street was a railway station on the edge of the city-centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. The station was the original Newcastle terminus of the Blyth and Tyne Railway, and was opened on 27 June 1864. In 1874 the Blyth & Tyne was taken over by the North Eastern Railway. For most of its life it served trains to Tynemouth and Morpeth. Picton House, a villa designed by John Dobson, was used for company offices and passenger facilities.In 1904 the line to Tynemouth was electrified (see Tyneside Electrics), and New Bridge Street temporarily became a terminus for the new electric service. The station was isolated, and had no connection to the lines towards Newcastle Central. In order to create a loop service (see North Tyneside Loop) New Bridge Street was closed to passengers in 1909, and a new link was built to nearby Manors North station, allowing trains to run through to Newcastle Central. Following this, New Bridge Street became a goods station, and remained open as such until 1967. Picton House was demolished in 1970.Nothing now remains of the station, as the A167(M) road and a car park of Northumbria University have been constructed over the site.

Carliol House is a Grade II listed building in Newcastle upon Tyne that curved the corner of Market Street East and Pilgrim Street in the city-centre. As of 2024 only the façade of the building remains.

The Newcastle City Hall (currently known as O2 City Hall Newcastle for sponsorship reasons) is a concert hall located in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It has hosted many popular music and classical artists throughout the years, as well as standup and comedy acts. The venue is operated by Academy Music Group and named under a group sponsorship agreement with telecoms company O2. It is a Grade II listed building.
