Waterford Durant High School is an alternative high school in Waterford, Michigan. It is operated by the Waterford School District and is one of three high school within the district.The school was opened in 2009 Under the title “Waterford Alternative High School” and in 2012 was renamed and relocated to “Waterford Durant High School” and moved from a no longer standing building behind Waterford Kettering to WSD Administration/Crary Middle School (Closed 2017) Building located at 501 North Cass Lake Road. For the 2019-2020 School year enrollment at waterford peaked at 280 9th-12th graders. Durant is open & accepting to students from across Oakland County.

Scott Lake is a 77.5-acre (31.4 ha) all-sports lake in Waterford Township in Oakland County, Michigan.The private, 35-foot (11 m) deep lake, all-sports lake is spring fed and is entirely residential. It is located north of Scott Lake Rd. and west of Dixie Highway.

Geneva Lake is a lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It lies west of Highland Rd. (M-59) and north of Elizabeth Lake Rd. The 19-acre (7.7 ha), 35-foot (11 m) deep lake connects with Fiddle Lake to the north and Otter Lake to the south. Geneva Lake was previously named Carp Lake as late as 1908.

Watkins Lake is a 238 acres (96 ha) lake in Waterford Township in Oakland County, Michigan.The private, 25 feet (7.6 m) deep all-sports lake is spring fed and is entirely residential. It is located north of Watkins Lake Rd and west of Dixie Highway.

Summit Place Mall, originally Pontiac Mall, was a shopping mall in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1962 as the first enclosed mall in Michigan, it was built on a 74-acre (30 ha) site. After expansions in 1987 and 1993, it comprised more than 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of retail space. At its peak, it had approximately 200 inline tenants and six anchor stores: Hudson's (later Marshall Field's, then Macy's), Sears, J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward, Service Merchandise, and Kohl's. Following the opening of Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in nearby Auburn Hills, Michigan in 1998, Summit Place Mall lost many of its tenants to this newer mall, also losing Service Merchandise and Montgomery Ward to their respective bankruptcies in 1999 and 2000. In the 2000s, Summit Place became a dead mall as the majority of its stores closed. Kohl's closed in March 2009 and the mall concourses were closed off in September 2009. J.C. Penney and Macy's remained until early 2010, and Sears until 2014.

Silver Lake is a freshwater lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The lake is located south of Walton Blvd., north of Silver Lake Road, and east of Dixie Highway. Silver Lake is located on the Clinton River watershed. Silver lake connects with Loon Lake to the west and with Upper Silver Lake (35.5 acres) to the east.The sand-bottom lake is 101 acres (41 ha).At its deepest point, the lake is 73 feet (22 m) deep, making it the ninth deepest lake in Oakland County.

Loon Lake is a freshwater lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It borders Dixie Highway on the west and is south of Walton Blvd. on the north. The sand-bottom lake is 243 acres (98 ha), making it the 18th largest lake in Oakland County, Michigan and one of the largest in Waterford Township. Loon Lake is located on the upper reaches of the Clinton River watershed. The Clinton River enters Lake Loon on the north end from Lake Oakland upstream. The Clinton River exits to the southwest downstream of Loon Lake. Loon Lake also connects to Silver Lake to the east. From Loon Lake, the Clinton River heads west toward the Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery and then winds its way southward to Cass Lake.At its deepest point, the lake is 73 feet (22 m) deep, making it the ninth deepest lake in Oakland County. Fiddle Lake is a lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It lies west of Highland Rd. (M-59) and north of Elizabeth Lake Rd. The 9-acre (3.6 ha) lake connects with Geneva Lake to the south.

The Clinton Valley Center (CVC), originally called the Eastern Michigan Asylum for the Insane, was a psychiatric hospital located at 140 Elizabeth Lake Road in Pontiac, Michigan. The facility was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1974 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981, with a decrease in its boundaries in 1986. The facility was closed in 1997 and demolished in 2000.

Otter Lake is an all-sports, 74-acre (30 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake along the main branch of the Clinton River.To the north, Otter Lake connects to 19-acre (7.7 ha) Geneva Lake. To the south is 458-acre Sylvan Lake, which joins the 74-acre (30 ha) Otter Lake, for a total of 532 acres (215 ha) of lake, making it the seventh largest lake in Oakland County.The lake lies in Waterford Township, Michigan and is west of Pontiac, Michigan. It is located south of Voorhies Road, east of Cass Lake Road and west of Telegraph Road. Otter Lake is named for the North American river otter, which are indigenous to the area.

The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was the second fish hatchery opened by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (previously known as the Michigan Conservation Department). It was established in 1903 and originally named Drayton Plains Station. The name was officially changed to Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery in 1934.The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was opened along the Clinton River on Mill Street (later Hatchery Road) in what was then Drayton Plains, Michigan (now Waterford Township). Its purpose was to raise bass fingerlings on its 18-acre site. The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was listed as a Michigan Historic Site on August 24, 1984.

Schoolhouse Lake is an all-sports 37-acre (15 ha) lake located in central Oakland County, on the east side of Waterford in Waterford Township.The lake is part of the Clinton River watershed. The Clinton River enters Schoolhouse Lake on the north end and exits on the west end. Upstream is Lake Oakland and Wormer Lake (27.5 acres). Downstream from Schoolhouse Lake is Loon Lake.
