RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, formerly Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre or simply RAI Amsterdam (Dutch pronunciation: [raːi] (listen), acronym for Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie), is a complex of conference and exhibition halls in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Opened in 1961, the RAI welcomed its 75 millionth visitor in February 2001. Up to 2 million people visit the RAI every year. Some 50 international conferences and 70 trade shows are held at the RAI annually. The complex consists of 22 conference rooms and 11 multi-functional halls and has a total floor space of 112,200 m². The largest hall, Europahal RAI, can Capacity 12,900 people. The complex also includes a musical and concert theatre and underground parking space for over 4,000 cars. It gives its name to the nearby Amsterdam RAI railway station.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1970 was the 15th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), the international songwriting competition was held at the RAI Congrescentrum on Saturday 21 March 1970, and was hosted by Dutch television presenter Willy Dobbe. Due to there being four winners in the previous contest, a question was raised as to which nation would host the 1970 contest. With Spain having hosted in 1969 and the United Kingdom in 1968, only France and the Netherlands were in consideration. A draw of ballots between these two countries resulted in the Netherlands being chosen as the host country.Twelve countries participated in the contest this year. This was the lowest number of participants since the 1959 edition. The reason was that Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Austria all boycotted the 1970 edition in protest of the four-way tie result that had occurred in 1969.The winner of the competition was Ireland with the song "All Kinds of Everything", performed by Dana, and written by Derry Lindsay and Jackie Smith. This was Ireland's first of seven victories in the Eurovision Song Contest. The United Kingdom finished in second place for the seventh time, while Germany ended up in third place – the best result for the country at the time. This was also the only time that Luxembourg received nul points.

Europaplein metro station (Dutch: Station Europaplein) is a station on the Route 52 (North–South Line) of the Amsterdam Metro in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was opened on 22 July 2018. Europaplein is an underground station situated in the Zuidas neighbourhood of Amsterdam-Zuid (Amsterdam South). The station is expected to handle around 20,000 passengers and arrivals per day.

The 6th Montessori School Anne Frank (Dutch: 6e Montessorischool Anne Frank) (or Anne Frank School (Dutch: Anne Frankschool) for short) is a public Montessori primary school in the Rivierenbuurt, Amsterdam.

Buitenveldert is a neighborhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is considered the modern Jewish quarter of Amsterdam with its Synagogue, Jewish schools, nursing homes, shops and restaurants.

The Amstelpark is a park in Amsterdam-Zuid. The park includes a labyrinth, a café, a restaurant, two galleries, an orangery, a petting zoo and a mini-golf course.

Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord is a World War II memorial in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. 'Fusilladeplaats' might be translated into English as 'firing squad place'. 'Rozenoord' was originally a rose garden, whose name was adopted during the 1930s by a teahouse by the Amsteldijk, a dyke in Amsterdam. Between 18 January and 14 April 1945, German occupation forces shot dead more than 100 Dutch civilians at Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord (at least that many have been identified, several of them resistance fighters). Those events are commemorated 4 May every year. It seems that no-one ever faced trial for those crimes. The inscription on the memorial plaque reads:Op deze plaats werden in delaatste maanden van deTweede Wereldoorlog meer dan100 Nederlanders door de Duitsebezetter gefusilleerd An English translation:At this place, during the last months of the Second World War, the German occupiers shot dead more than 100 Dutch people. In 2014, Dutch artist and sculptor Ram Katzir designed another memorial (Monument Rozenoord) for Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord. It consists of an arrangement of empty chairs on concrete plates with the names of the known victims. There is also one plate for the unknown victims. In 2018, research delivered six other names of victims, so six extra chairs were placed. This monument is situated in Amstelpark.

Zorgvlied is a cemetery on the Amsteldijk in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on the left bank of the river Amstel. The cemetery was opened in 1870 by the city of Amstelveen which still owns and operates it, though since 1896 (when city lines were redrawn) it is located within the boundaries of the city of Amsterdam. One of the country's best-known cemeteries, it is notable for the large number of celebrities, especially from the literary and theater worlds, buried there.

The Beatrixpark is a park in the Amsterdam-Zuid borough and is located in the "Prinses Irenebuurt" residential area. The park was named after the former Dutch Queen Beatrix. In 1972, part of the park, together with the Amstelpark, was the site of the Floriade garden and agricultural exhibition.

Rivierenbuurt is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The neighbourhood is situated in the eastern part of the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid, bordered by the river Amstel to the east, the Boerenwetering canal in the west, the Amstelkanaal in the north and the A10 motorway in the south. In 2013, the Rivierenbuurt had approximately 28,400 residents.The Rivierenbuurt was built in the 1920s as a primarily middle-class residential area, part of the Plan Zuid urban expansion programme designed by Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage. The neighbourhood features many fine examples of Amsterdam School architecture. The Dutch word Rivierenbuurt translates as 'Rivers Neighbourhood', which refers to the fact that most streets in the area are named after rivers in the Netherlands. Until World War II the area had a sizable Jewish population which included Anne Frank and her family, who lived at Merwedeplein square until they went into hiding in the secret annex located in the old city centre.The neighbourhood is served by tram routes 4 and 12, bus routes 62 and 65, as well as Amsterdam metro and national rail services from Amstel Station and Zuid Station.

Vossius Gymnasium is a public gymnasium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was established in 1926 and is named after Gerardus Vossius. In 2014, it was ranked best VWO school in Amsterdam and fourth in the country by RTL Nieuws. It is also consistently ranked among the best in the country in terms of final exam results.

Yamazato is a restaurant housed in the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant and has had one Michelin star since 2002. According to Misset Horeca, the American restaurant guide Zagat praised the restaurant in 2001, shortly before Yamazato earned its Michelin star.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.The head chef of Yamazato is Masanori Tomikawa. Tomikawa took over the kitchen in March 2010, replacing Akira Oshima, who had been the head chef since 1977.Yamazato is a member of the Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise. They joined the Alliance in 2003.
