RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, formerly Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre or simply RAI Amsterdam (Dutch pronunciation: [raːi] (listen), acronym for Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie), is a complex of conference and exhibition halls in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Opened in 1961, the RAI welcomed its 75 millionth visitor in February 2001. Up to 2 million people visit the RAI every year. Some 50 international conferences and 70 trade shows are held at the RAI annually. The complex consists of 22 conference rooms and 11 multi-functional halls and has a total floor space of 112,200 m². The largest hall, Europahal RAI, can Capacity 12,900 people. The complex also includes a musical and concert theatre and underground parking space for over 4,000 cars. It gives its name to the nearby Amsterdam RAI railway station.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1970 was the 15th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), the international songwriting competition was held at the RAI Congrescentrum on Saturday 21 March 1970, and was hosted by Dutch television presenter Willy Dobbe. Due to there being four winners in the previous contest, a question was raised as to which nation would host the 1970 contest. With Spain having hosted in 1969 and the United Kingdom in 1968, only France and the Netherlands were in consideration. A draw of ballots between these two countries resulted in the Netherlands being chosen as the host country.Twelve countries participated in the contest this year. This was the lowest number of participants since the 1959 edition. The reason was that Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Austria all boycotted the 1970 edition in protest of the four-way tie result that had occurred in 1969.The winner of the competition was Ireland with the song "All Kinds of Everything", performed by Dana, and written by Derry Lindsay and Jackie Smith. This was Ireland's first of seven victories in the Eurovision Song Contest. The United Kingdom finished in second place for the seventh time, while Germany ended up in third place – the best result for the country at the time. This was also the only time that Luxembourg received nul points.

Amsterdam RAI (Dutch: Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie) is a railway station situated in southern Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located between the two directions of the A10 Amsterdam ring road. It is also a metro station at which GVB runs two lines. RAI gets its name from the nearby Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The Beatrixpark is a park in the Amsterdam-Zuid borough and is located in the "Prinses Irenebuurt" residential area. The park was named after the former Dutch Queen Beatrix. In 1972, part of the park, together with the Amstelpark, was the site of the Floriade garden and agricultural exhibition.

Europaplein metro station (Dutch: Station Europaplein) is a station on the Route 52 (North–South Line) of the Amsterdam Metro in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was opened on 22 July 2018. Europaplein is an underground station situated in the Zuidas neighbourhood of Amsterdam-Zuid (Amsterdam South). The station is expected to handle around 20,000 passengers and arrivals per day.

Vossius Gymnasium is a public gymnasium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was established in 1926 and is named after Gerardus Vossius. In 2014, it was ranked best VWO school in Amsterdam and fourth in the country by RTL Nieuws. It is also consistently ranked among the best in the country in terms of final exam results.

Located on the North Amstel Canal, it has a private marina near the confluence of five canals. Museumplein, the Hilton Amsterdam and Marie Heinekenplein are nearby.

Restaurant Halvemaan is a former restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1991 and retained that rating until 1997. The restaurant closed at 28 October 2018.In 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.Owner and head chef of Halvemaan is John Halvemaan.The building of the restaurant is a purpose built restaurant designed by Alexander Bodon. It is located in a park in the neighbourhood Buitenveldert. The restaurant opened in 1989.

Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord is a World War II memorial in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. 'Fusilladeplaats' might be translated into English as 'firing squad place'. 'Rozenoord' was originally a rose garden, whose name was adopted during the 1930s by a teahouse by the Amsteldijk, a dyke in Amsterdam. Between 18 January and 14 April 1945, German occupation forces shot dead more than 100 Dutch civilians at Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord (at least that many have been identified, several of them resistance fighters). Those events are commemorated 4 May every year. It seems that no-one ever faced trial for those crimes. The inscription on the memorial plaque reads:Op deze plaats werden in delaatste maanden van deTweede Wereldoorlog meer dan100 Nederlanders door de Duitsebezetter gefusilleerd An English translation:At this place, during the last months of the Second World War, the German occupiers shot dead more than 100 Dutch people. In 2014, Dutch artist and sculptor Ram Katzir designed another memorial (Monument Rozenoord) for Fusilladeplaats Rozenoord. It consists of an arrangement of empty chairs on concrete plates with the names of the known victims. There is also one plate for the unknown victims. In 2018, research delivered six other names of victims, so six extra chairs were placed. This monument is situated in Amstelpark.
