Stanmore Bay

Whangaparāoa College is a co-educational state secondary school on the Hibiscus Coast of New Zealand. It was built on the same site as, and absorbed, Hibiscus Coast Intermediate School, with the only other state secondary school on the Hibiscus Coast being Orewa College. The decile 9 school serves Years 7 to 13. Opened officially in 2005, the founding principal was Brian O'Connell, who served until 2012. James Thomas took over the principal role in 2012. The current principal is Steve McCracken.It has a roll of 1732 learners (as at April 2023), including international students. The school is in a high socio-economic area (high decile number), and has tight zoning rules where students must live to attend the school. This method prevents overcrowding. Being a new school, the facilities and technology used are leaders in the New Zealand education system, positioned on an environmentally aware site. 2006 saw the rise of two new high decile schools in Metropolitan Auckland, Whangaparāoa College and Botany Downs Secondary School.

The Weiti River is an estuarine river to the north of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. It rises as the Weiti Stream in the low hills approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) west of Silverdale and emerges into the Hauraki Gulf immediately south of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. The upper stretches of the river are heavily grown with mangroves but with care, small craft can navigate it as far as Silverdale at high tide. Stillwater is the only other settlement along the river's banks. Wentworth College, based in nearby Gulf Harbour, uses the Weiti River for its rowing training.Up until the 1950s this river and estuary was known by locals as the Wade river.

Stillwater is a village in the northern end of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. Situated on the Weiti River immediately south of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula in the Rodney District, it is part of the area known as the Hibiscus Coast. There is also a Stillwater, West Coast in the South Island.

Arkles Bay is one of the northernmost suburbs of the contiguous Auckland metropolitan area located in New Zealand. It is located on the southern side of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, in the Hibiscus Coast, located 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of the Auckland CBD. It is part of the Albany Ward area for local government purposes. Arkles Bay is known for its sheltered beaches, suitable for swimming and paddle boarding.

Karepiro Bay is a bay of the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana in the Auckland Region, New Zealand. It found between the Whangaparāoa Peninsula and North Shore, and is the mouth of the Weiti River and Ōkura River.

Manly is a suburb on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, towards the northern end of Auckland, New Zealand. Manly Village is an established shopping centre, with the residential areas of Big Manly Beach to the north and Little Manly Beach to the south. The area was once a seaside holiday location, but has become residential suburbs within commuting distance of central Auckland city.

The Ōkura River, also known as the Ōkura Estuary, is a river in the north of the Auckland Region in the North Island of New Zealand. The river rises in the low hills to the south of Silverdale and flows into Karepiro Bay on the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana. The river is extremely tidal with only a narrow channel being navigable by small craft at low tide. The area is popular for horse riding, riders wait till low tide and then ford the boating channel to ride the estuary and beaches on the northern side.

The Whangaparāoa Peninsula is a suburban area about 30–50 km north of Auckland, New Zealand. It had 33,390 residents in 2018. It stretches from Red Beach, where it connects to Kingsway, Orewa and Silverdale, and extends to Army Bay in the Hauraki Gulf. It is part of the Hibiscus Coast. The area is populated by residents who work on the peninsula, or commute from the area to other parts of the Hibiscus Coast, the North Shore, Rodney district, Auckland CBD and beyond for work. They travel by vehicle, or via the Gulf Harbour ferry at Gulf Harbour Marina, or the Hibiscus Coast Bus Station at Silverdale. There is one main road (Whangaparāoa Road) along its entire length, which is accessible from State Highway 1 via Hibiscus Coast Highway at Silverdale, or from Hibiscus Coast Highway at Orewa via Red Beach. It is popular as a tourist destination for catching a ferry to Tiritiri Matangi Island, and for visiting Shakespear Regional Park. It has one open (Whangaparāoa Golf Club) and one closed (as of 20 July 2023) (closed ) golf club (Gulf Harbour Country Club), beaches, sporting and recreation facilities, a library, shops, businesses and public and private primary and secondary schools. The median age of the population is in the 30s-40s.

Pōhutukawa Bay is a beach north of Long Bay, located on the North Shore of Auckland. It is situated northeast of Ōkura, close to Piripiri Point. Directly south of Pōhutukawa Bay Beach is Granny's Bay Beach, and a little further south is Long Bay Regional Park. The beach is accessible only at low tide, and it is among one of Auckland's most popular naturist beaches. Public nudity is technically legal on any New Zealand beach where it is "known to occur". Getting to the beach requires going through the coastal track, a 6 km (3.7 mi) walk that starts from the beach carparks, and ends at the Okura River.

The Okura Bush Scenic Reserve is a protected forested area on the Hibiscus Coast in the Auckland Region, New Zealand. It is the location of the Okura Bush Track.

Murphy's Bush is a protected forested area in Flat Bush in East Auckland, New Zealand. The reserve features a remnant kahikatea forest, and is the largest remaining lowland bush in metropolitan Auckland.

Ōkura is a northern suburb of the North Shore, part of the contiguous metropolitan area in Auckland, New Zealand. It is under the local governance of the Auckland Council. The official name is spelled with a macron.Ōkura is a small village on the south shore of the Okura River, on the opposite shore to the Okura Bush Scenic Reserve. It is the only location that provides access to the Okura River in the form of basic launching facilities for small craft. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "place of red (clay)" for Ōkura.
