Italian Cultural Centre Vancouver

VIVO Media Arts Centre, run under the Satellite Video Exchange Society, (SVES) is an artist-run centre and video distribution library located in Vancouver, Canada. It was founded in 1973 to promote the non-commercial use of video technology by providing international and educational video exchange through a public video library. Its mission has then been expanded to provide equipment rentals, artist workshops, and provide information to the public about media arts.

These specialize mainly in design education and include LaSalle College Montreal, LCI Barcelona in Spain, LCI Melbourne in Australia, and LCI Bogota in Colombia, among others. The school is a registered post-secondary institution and is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education of British Columbia.

Nanaimo is a partially elevated station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located on Nanaimo Street between Vanness Avenue and East 24th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The station takes its name from Nanaimo Street, which is named after the city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Situated on a hillcrest, the station provides riders with a view of the west side and Downtown Vancouver.

Filipino Plaza is a landscaped park located on Vanness Avenue, west of SkyTrain's Nanaimo Station in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The open park, sometimes referred to as a linear park, is located underneath the SkyTrain Expo Line, and was one of the dozens of open parks built in 1986 as part of BC Transit's Parkway Program showcasing different cultural parks on the 26-kilometre path that parallels the SkyTrain. Many ethnic communities created legacies on the linear park under the Skytrain in 1986.Designed by architect Bert Morelos, the park consists of a wooden arch, a very distinctive and colourful Sarimanok logo, and two walls made up of 2,000 red bricks donated by Filipino-Canadians representing the pioneers of the plaza.Construction of the park was made possible with the bayanihan spirit of Filipino-Canadian members of the "Filipino Plaza Committee of 1985." The designer of the Sarimanok logo and the park itself was Filipino. The committee led the effort of the many Filipino in raising enough money for the plaza.In 2010, a Filipino Plaza Committee was formed to handle proposed improvements.

John Hendry Park is 27-hectare park in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It's operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Grandview Community Association. Locals often refer to the park informally as Trout Lake, due to the lake itself being its largest feature. It’s a focal point of the Cedar Cottage neighbourhood.

Renfrew–Collingwood is a large neighbourhood that lies on the eastern side of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on its boundary with Burnaby and encompassing an area that was one of the earlier developed regions of the city. It is a diverse area that includes a substantial business community in several areas, as well as some of the fastest-growing residential sectors of Vancouver. In 2011, the neighbourhood had a population of 50,500, 38.4% of whom claim Chinese as their first language.
