Meiji Maru (明治丸) is a Japanese sailing ship that serves as a museum ship in Tokyo. It is displayed at the Etchujima Campus of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.

The Shibaura Institute of Technology (芝浦工業大学, Shibaura Kōgyō Daigaku), abbreviated as Shibaura kōdai (芝浦工大, Shibaura kōdai), is a private university of Technology in Japan, with campuses located in Tokyo and Saitama. Established in 1927 as the Tokyo Higher School of Industry and Commerce, it was chartered as a university in 1949.The Shibaura Institute of Technology enjoys a moderately high reputation nationally, ranking 26th in the 2017 edition of Truly Strong Universities, 28th in Times Higher Education Japan University rankings for 2022 (out of 775 institutions), and joint 6th among private universities in terms of entry difficulty (in STEM). While the average acceptance rate is in the region of 20-30%, the applicants per place ratio approaches or exceeds 20:1 in some departments. Shibaura is the only private technology university in Japan to have been selected for the Top Global University Project.

The 1974 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries bombing (Japanese: 三菱重工爆破事件) was a terrorist bombing of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries headquarters in Tokyo, Japan on 30 August 1974, killing eight people and injuring at least 376 others. The bombing was committed by the East Asia Anti-Japan Armed Front, a radical far-left anti-Japanese organization, against Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for supplying the United States against North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The 1974 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries bombing was the deadliest terrorist attack in Japan until the Tokyo subway sarin attack in 1995.

Fukagawa (深川) is an area in Kōtō, Tokyo. It is one of the representative shitamachi of Tokyo. Formerly, it was a ward of the historical Tokyo City. In 1947, Fukagawa was incorporated into the ward of Kōtō, together with Suginami.

Tsukudajima (佃島, "Tsukuda Island") is a small island in Tokyo Bay, facing Tsukiji to its west. Originally, Tsukudajima was a tiny island at the mouth of the Edogawa river in Tokyo Bay. It was inhabited by a fishing community who migrated from Osaka in early 1600s. It is home to the famous dish Tsukudani (佃煮). Next to it was built on reclaimed land the high-rise district of Tsukishima.

Tsukishima (月島) is a place located in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. It is a reclaimed land next to Tsukuda district. The land reclamation completed in 1892, using earth from the dredging work performed to create a shipping channel in Tokyo Bay. At this time, it was designated as industrial area in accordance with the Fukoku Kyōhei National Policy. Originally, Tsukuda Island was a tiny island at the river mouth. It was inhabited by a Fishing Community who migrated from Osaka in early 1600s. It has been said that the name (literally "moon island") was originally written using the characters 築島 which can also be read "Tsukishima" but mean "constructed island". It is currently known for its large number of restaurants serving the local speciality, monjayaki. Tsukishima station is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line and the Toei Subway Oedo Line.

Harumi (晴海) is a district of Chūō, Tokyo. The district contains five chōme (subdivisions), and the postal code is 104-0053. Harumi is located on reclaimed land, created by dropping earth and sediment generated from expanding Tokyo Bay. The construction took place starting in the middle of the Meiji era and was completed early in the Showa era. before an official name was decided for the district, it was called Tsukishima No. 4. The district was designated to host celebrations of the 2600th anniversary of the founding of Japan (by the mythical emperor Jimmu), but celebrations (scheduled to take place in 1940) were canceled due to Japan being at war with the Republic of China and the United States. The Olympic Village for the 2020 Olympics (postponed to 2021) is located in the 5th chōme of Harumi, at Harumi Futo.

IBM Hakozaki Facility (ＩＢＭ箱崎ビル or 三井倉庫箱崎ビル) in Nihonbashi-Hakozaki-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan, is IBM's largest building in Japan, in terms of the number of people working there. It mainly houses IBM's marketing and market support departments, and, since October 2009, headquarters, which moved from Roppongi, Tokyo. It was built for IBM in 1989.
