Ho-Ho-Kus Brook is a tributary of the Saddle River (which is itself a tributary of the Passaic River) in Bergen County, New Jersey, in the United States.The brook originates in Mahwah. Ho-Ho-Kus Brook joins the Saddle River at the Dunkerhook area of Saddle River County Park. Their confluence marks the border of four Bergen County communities: Ridgewood, Paramus, Glen Rock and Fair Lawn.While it flows it marks the border between Mahwah and Wyckoff.

The Garret Hopper House is located at 470 Prospect Street in the borough of Glen Rock in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic stone house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS). According to the nomination form, the oldest part of the house was built around 1760, while the main section was probably built by Garret Hopper around 1790 to 1825, based on architectural evidence.

Van Dien House, is located in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983.

The James Rose Center is a non-profit landscape research and study foundation located at 506 East Ridgewood Avenue in the village of Ridgewood in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Its headquarters, the James C. Rose Residence, was designed by landscape architect James C. Rose. The historic house was built in 1953 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 2019, for its significance in architecture and landscape architecture. It is also a member of the Iconic Houses Network.

Ridgewood High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school in Ridgewood, in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Ridgewood Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,789 students and 135.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.2:1. There were 22 students (1.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 14 (0.8% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Hendrick Hopper Homestead is a historic building located in Glen Rock, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, and was built in the early 19th century. It was home to the Hopper Family and is located on the corner of Ackerman Avenue and Hillman Avenue. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This house is occupied by a family. A blue sign stands in front of the house that reads: Hopper Homestead North wing built 1780 by Hendrick Hopper in area then called “small lots.” Center section erected by son, John, in early 1800s. The farmhouse was sold to the Hillmann family in 1895 ending four generations and 115 years of continuous Hopper ownership. The Hopper Family burying ground is also located behind the Hopper Homestead where the farms of Garrett E. Hopper and Hendrick H. Hopper met. Descendants of Hendrick Jan Hopper are buried in the cemetery.

The historic stone house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS).According to the nomination form, the house was built between 1760 and 1803 by Jacob Ackerman. In 1803, it was purchased by Henry P. Hopper, who had married Elizabeth Ackerman. His son, Peter H. Hopper, inherited the house in 1870.

The Andrew H. Hopper House is located at 762 Prospect Street in the borough of Glen Rock in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic stone house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS).Based on architectural evidence, the house was built between 1770 and 1805. According to the nomination form, Andrew H. Hopper was building it when his father Hendrick Hopper died in 1805. He later sold it to his son, Henry A. Hopper.

The Saddle River flows south through much of Bergen County, New Jersey. The river runs through densely populated suburban areas for much of its course. The river takes its name from the river near Saddell in Argyll and Bute in Scotland.The headwaters of the Saddle River are in the piedmont terrain of Rockland County, in southern New York state. Streams from this area flow south, forming the Saddle River at their confluence, two miles south of the New York state border, in the town of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. From its feeder streams in Upper Saddle River and the source in Airmont, New York, the Saddle River continues south for 16.3 miles, passing through the towns of Saddle River, Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Paramus, Fair Lawn, Rochelle Park, Saddle Brook, Lodi, Garfield, and Wallington. The Ho-Ho-Kus Brook, a major tributary, joins the Saddle River at the Dunkerhook area of Saddle River County Park. Their confluence marks the border of four Bergen County towns: Ridgewood, Paramus, Glen Rock and Fair Lawn. The terminus of the Saddle River is at Garfield and Wallington, where the waterway empties into the Passaic River. The Passaic River drains at Newark Bay and via Arthur Kill and Kill van Kull to the Atlantic Ocean. The northern part of the Saddle River watershed drains an area between the Ramapo River watershed to the west, and the Hackensack River watershed to the east. Fish species in the Saddle River include largemouth bass, pickerel, bullhead catfish, sunfish and different varieties of trout. Most of the trout are stocked by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, although the uppermost reaches of the river and some of its tributaries hold wild brown trout. These wild trout are threatened by increased residential use of lawn fertilizer which contributes to algae and weed growth.

Ridgewood Township existed in Bergen County, New Jersey, and was established on March 30, 1876, consisting of the easternmost third of what remained of Franklin Township, west of the Saddle River. Ridgewood Township lasted a mere 18 years, before it was subdivided in 1894, at the peak of the "boroughitis" phenomenon that was sweeping through Bergen County at the time. Midland Park was incorporated as a borough on September 6, 1894, and also included portions of Franklin Township. Glen Rock was formed on September 12, 1894, and also included territory that had been part of Saddle River Township. The Village of Ridgewood was incorporated on November 20, 1894, replacing the municipal government of Ridgewood Township.

Archibald-Vroom House is located in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1785 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 1984. Dr. William Vroom, a renowned physician, converted the house into a small hospital in 1888. The house is now used as a retail site.
