Okinawa University (沖縄大学, Okinawa daigaku) is a private university in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1961, and it was chartered as a university in 1974.

Okinawa Shogaku High School (沖縄尚学高等学校・附属中学校, Okinawa Shōgaku Kōtō Gakkō Fuzoku Chūgakkō) is a middle school and high school in the Kokuba district of Naha, Okinawa. Okisho, as it is called, is known for its performance in high school baseball tournaments, including National tournament wins in 1999 and 2008.Its colors are green, yellow, and maize. The school motto is "恐れず、侮らず、気負わず," which can directly be translated to "Without fear, disdain, or over-eagerness."

Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing (沖縄県立看護大学, Okinawa kenritsu kango daigaku) is a public university in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1946, and it was chartered as a university in 1999.

The gardens of Shikina-en (識名園) are located on a small hill to the south of Shuri Castle in Naha, Okinawa. The residence and its gardens are also known as Shichina-nu-Udun (シチナヌウドゥン) or Southern Gardens (南苑), as opposed to the Eastern Gardens (東苑) or Uchayaudun (御茶屋御殿), laid out on a small hill east of Shuri Castle in 1677. In 1992 Hiroshi Shō, the great-grandson of Shō Tai, the last king of the Ryūkyū Kingdom, donated the royal mausoleum of Tamaudun and Shikina-en to the City of Naha.

Okinawa Prefectural Library (沖縄県立図書館, Okinawa Kenritsu Toshokan) opened in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan in 1910. Iha Fuyū was the first director. The library reopened in a new building in 1983. As of 2016, the collection numbers some 708,000 items, of which almost a fifth are on open access.

Asato Station (安里駅, Asato-eki) is one of the railway station on the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) located in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

The Kinjo Dam (金城ダム, Kinjō Damu) is a concrete gravity dam on the Li River in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. It is designated as a cultural property and is located 500 m (1,640 ft) south of Shuri Castle. Construction on the dam began in 1989 and it was completed in 2000. Its main purpose is flood control and on average, it can control an intake of 40 m3/s (1,413 cu ft/s); releasing 23 m3/s (812 cu ft/s). The 19 m (62 ft) tall and 120 m (394 ft) long dam was constructed on fragile rock and is set on a deep concrete staircase foundation.

The Ryukyu Kingdom was a kingdom in the Ryukyu Islands from 1429 to 1879. It was ruled as a tributary state of imperial China by the Ryukyuan monarchy, who unified Okinawa Island to end the Sanzan period, and extended the kingdom to the Amami Islands and Sakishima Islands. The Ryukyu Kingdom played a central role in the maritime trade networks of medieval East Asia and Southeast Asia despite its small size. The Ryukyu Kingdom became a vassal state of the Satsuma Domain of Japan after the invasion of Ryukyu in 1609 but retained de jure independence until it was transformed into the Ryukyu Domain by the Empire of Japan in 1872. The Ryukyu Kingdom was formally annexed and dissolved by Japan in 1879 to form Okinawa Prefecture, and the Ryukyuan monarchy was integrated into the new Japanese nobility.

Lake Man (漫湖, Manko) is an area of wetlands in Okinawa that is located between the cities of Naha and Tomigusuku, and within Manko Park. Despite being called "Lake Man", it is in fact a wetland and not a lake. Lake Man covers .11 square kilometres (0.042 sq mi).Lake Man is close to Naha Port, located at the confluence of the lower reaches of the Kokuba River and the Noha River, to the south of Naha. Travelers from outside Okinawa Prefecture, en route from Naha Airport to the city Naha, cross this estuary, with the left side commanding a view of Lake Man. The Manko Waterbird & Wetland Center is located next to the wetland area and provides information and activities related to the area, as well as a boardwalk into the wetlands.The name Manko is pronounced the same as a crude Japanese word for female genitals, resulting in some controversy.

Tomigusuku Castle (豊見城城, Tomigusuku jō, Okinawan: Tumigushiku) is a Ryukyuan gusuku in Tomigusuku, Okinawa. It was built in about 1400 by Ououso, then King of Nanzan, and is now a ruined castle. The castle is not far off of Highway 58.

Makishi Station (牧志駅, Makishi-eki) is a railway station on the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) located in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

Heiwa Dōri (平和通り, Peace Street) of Naha, is a shopping location and tourist attraction in Okinawa. The street features many gift shops selling wares that range from stone Shisa dogs, which are traditional statues placed on the roofs of many Okinawan homes as protection from evil, and tempura to colored glass and geta clogs.
