Lake Man (漫湖, Manko) is an area of wetlands in Okinawa that is located between the cities of Naha and Tomigusuku, and within Manko Park. Despite being called "Lake Man", it is in fact a wetland and not a lake. Lake Man covers .11 square kilometres (0.042 sq mi).Lake Man is close to Naha Port, located at the confluence of the lower reaches of the Kokuba River and the Noha River, to the south of Naha. Travelers from outside Okinawa Prefecture, en route from Naha Airport to the city Naha, cross this estuary, with the left side commanding a view of Lake Man. The Manko Waterbird & Wetland Center is located next to the wetland area and provides information and activities related to the area, as well as a boardwalk into the wetlands.The name Manko is pronounced the same as a crude Japanese word for female genitals, resulting in some controversy.

The Ryukyu Kingdom was a kingdom in the Ryukyu Islands from 1429 to 1879. It was ruled as a tributary state of imperial China by the Ryukyuan monarchy, who unified Okinawa Island to end the Sanzan period, and extended the kingdom to the Amami Islands and Sakishima Islands. The Ryukyu Kingdom played a central role in the maritime trade networks of medieval East Asia and Southeast Asia despite its small size. The Ryukyu Kingdom became a vassal state of the Satsuma Domain of Japan after the invasion of Ryukyu in 1609 but retained de jure independence until it was transformed into the Ryukyu Domain by the Empire of Japan in 1872. The Ryukyu Kingdom was formally annexed and dissolved by Japan in 1879 to form Okinawa Prefecture, and the Ryukyuan monarchy was integrated into the new Japanese nobility.

Oroku (小禄, Okinawan: ウルク Uruku) is a district on the southern edge of the city of Naha, the capital of Okinawa Prefecture in southern Japan. It was formerly a village independent from Naha, but it was incorporated into the city in 1954. The village hosted an airfield used by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service beginning in 1933. A base, presumably the former Navy Air base, was held by the US military in the village until Okinawa was returned to Japan. After the installation was handed over, it was converted into a base for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

Yamashita First Cave Site Park (山下洞穴遺跡公園, Yamashita Dōketsuiseki Kōen) is an urban park in Naha, Okinawa. The park was opened by the city in December 2015. An opening inauguration ceremony was held on January 8, 2016 in Yamashita Town, Naha. The 900 m2 (9,687.52 sq ft) park was created through private land purchases by the city which cost an estimated 100 million yen.

Okinawa Shogaku High School (沖縄尚学高等学校・附属中学校, Okinawa Shōgaku Kōtō Gakkō Fuzoku Chūgakkō) is a middle school and high school in the Kokuba district of Naha, Okinawa. Okisho, as it is called, is known for its performance in high school baseball tournaments, including National tournament wins in 1999 and 2008.Its colors are green, yellow, and maize. The school motto is "恐れず、侮らず、気負わず," which can directly be translated to "Without fear, disdain, or over-eagerness."

Okinawa Cellular Stadium, originally known as Naha City Ohnoyama Baseball Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Naha, Japan. It is currently used mostly for baseball matches. The stadium was originally opened in 1959, but was renovated in 2010. It has a capacity of 30,000 spectators.

The Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu (琉球王国のグスク及び関連遺産群, Ryūkyū ōkoku no gusuku oyobi kanren'isangun) is an UNESCO World Heritage Site which consists of nine sites all located in the Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The heritage sites include two utaki (or sacred sites, one a gate and the other a grove), the Tamaudun mausoleum, one garden, and five gusuku castles sites, four of which are ruins and one of which is a reconstruction. The sites were inscribed based on the criteria that they were a fine representation of the Ryūkyū Kingdom's culture, whose unique blend of Japanese and Chinese influence made it a crucial economic and cultural junction between several neighboring states.
