Warners Bay, New South Wales

Warners Bay High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Warners Bay, a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in January 1966, the school caters for approximately 1,300 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom three percent identified as Indigenous Australians and seven percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Marcus Neale.

Tingira Heights is a suburb of City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, 16 kilometres (10 mi) south-west of Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. It was developed in the 1960s. The Awabakal are the traditional people of this area.Tingira is the name of an aboriginal tribe on the NSW / Qld border, which means "open sea". A ship of the same name was Australia's first naval training vessel in 1912 and was decommissioned in 1941. In 1965 the H.M.A.S Tingira Old Boys Association asked to have a town named after the ship, and the name was adopted by the Violet Town Progress Association. Tingara is an alternative spelling.

Mount Hutton is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, located 14 kilometres (9 mi) from Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie North Ward. During the mid-2010s, the suburbs experienced an increase in new home construction, partly due to the suburb's proximity to the Charlestown metropolitan hub. The Lake Macquarie Fair shopping centre is one of the features of the suburb.

The Hunter Ice Skating Stadium is an ice sports and public skate centre, opened in 2000 and located in Warners Bay, a suburb of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. The stadium serves as the home ice rink of the Newcastle Northstars who compete in the Australian Ice Hockey League and East Coast Super League.

Lakelands is a residential suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia 16 kilometres (10 mi) south-west of Newcastle's central business district near the northern end of Lake Macquarie. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie west ward, and was formerly part of Warners Bay. Along Ambleside Circuit, the suburb's main street, is "Lakelands Business Centre". There is a variety of small businesses including a cafe, barber and psychiatrist. There is a tennis court, playground and also a cricket field in the south of Lakelands. In 2015, Lakelands was expanded into a former bush area, adding a residential area to the west of the suburb, bordering Warners Bay.

Croudace Bay is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 19 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. It was named after Thomas Croudace a mining engineer for the Scottish-Australian Mining Company. The town has Croudace Bay Sports where rugby league , netball , cricket and tennis are played. In 2016 574 people lived there with the median age of 41. 27.8 5 had No Religion, 25.3% Anglican, 21.0% Catholic, 6.9% United Church and 6.4% Not Stated. 93.2% only speak English at home with 1% speaking Afrikkaans and 0.5% speaking Polish.

Macquarie Hills is a residential suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, located 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Newcastle's central business district near the northern end of Lake Macquarie between the town centres of Cardiff and Warners Bay. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie north ward. Originally part of the suburb of Cardiff, the boundaries of the new suburb were defined in 1991, and the status of suburb was given in 2001.The Aboriginal people the Awabakal were the first people in this area.

Speers Point is a suburb of Greater Newcastle, and the location of the council seat of the City of Lake Macquarie local government area in New South Wales, Australia. It is 17 kilometres (10.6 mi) west-southwest of the city of Newcastle on the northern shore of Lake Macquarie, in Cockle and Warners Bays, between the suburbs of Cardiff and Warners Bay.Speers Point was settled in 1828 and local commerce began through a colliery in 1843. By 2006, the suburb had a population of 3,230.There has been a proposal to rename part of the suburb to 'Lake Macquarie', to reflect the name of the city.

South Cardiff Football Club is a semi-professional soccer club based in Cardiff South a suburb of Newcastle, Australia. The club was established in 1964 and currently competes in the Northern NSW State League Division 1. They are known as "The Gunners" after the nickname of London club Arsenal. The club in its current form celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014 although there is historical records of South Cardiff Football Club back to the 1930s at least. South Cardiff was the first team to score in the Round of 32 national knockout competition the FFA CUP. In 2015, South Cardiff were relegated to the Northern NSW State League Division 1 for the 2016 season. The club's stated mission is to qualify for re-admission to the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW In 2023 South Cardiff will field all teams from U9s to First Grade, with U13s-U18s competing in the Premier Youth League, Reserves and First Grade competing in HitFM Northern League 1 and U9s to U12s competing in Northern New South Wales Football's Junior Development Leagues

Lochend Colliery was a mine located at Speers Point, New South Wales, Australia. William Brooks began mining coal at the foot of the Munibung Hill near Speers Point in 1843. The coal was carried by trolleys on a small gauge tram line to a jetty at Speers Point. The coal could either be collected from the jetty or it could be transported to the head of Lake Macquarie, known as Reid's Mistake for collection. The mine ceased operations in 1847.

Munibung Hill is the name of a hill in New South Wales which is in the suburbs of Macquarie Hills, Boolaroo, Speers Point and Warners Bay. The name is believed to have been derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "fruit".Munibung Hill – meaning ‘fruit’ – was gazetted on 23 December 1977, but we cannot establish who proposed the name and why it was chosen i.e. presuming there was bush tucker present on Munibung Hill which species or variety of fruit was it; and why not Kona-konaba, since the Hill was well known as a source of ochre.
