South Cardiff FC

Cardiff South is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, located 13 kilometres (8 mi) west-southwest of Newcastle's central business district. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie north ward. Cardiff South was originally composed of three separate suburbs: Cardiff South, Evelien, and Coalbrook. Its soccer team, the South Cardiff Gunners play in the NBN State Football League, the top soccer competition in Newcastle.

Hillsborough is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia 13 kilometres (8 mi) from Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie north ward.

The Hunter Ice Skating Stadium is an ice sports and public skate centre, opened in 2000 and located in Warners Bay, a suburb of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. The stadium serves as the home ice rink of the Newcastle Northstars who compete in the Australian Ice Hockey League and East Coast Super League.

Cardiff railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the western Newcastle suburb of Cardiff, opening on 14 March 1889, relocating to its present site on 8 June 1902.Despite being one of the busiest stations in the region, the station long had substandard facilities, in particular, a lack of disabled access. There had been numerous (often contradictory) proposals to either upgrade Cardiff or relocate the station to the abandoned station at nearby Glendale, following community pressure stretching back to the 1990s.In November 2010, work started on a series of upgrades. These improved the parking and stairs and provided wheelchair access, weather protection, and a lengthened platform capable of accommodating eight carriage trains.

Macquarie Hills is a residential suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, located 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Newcastle's central business district near the northern end of Lake Macquarie between the town centres of Cardiff and Warners Bay. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie north ward. Originally part of the suburb of Cardiff, the boundaries of the new suburb were defined in 1991, and the status of suburb was given in 2001.The Aboriginal people the Awabakal were the first people in this area.

Garden Suburb is a small semi-rural community in the Lake Macquarie council in New South Wales. It is located 2 kilometres East of Cardiff.

Lakelands is a residential suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia 16 kilometres (10 mi) south-west of Newcastle's central business district near the northern end of Lake Macquarie. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie west ward, and was formerly part of Warners Bay. Along Ambleside Circuit, the suburb's main street, is "Lakelands Business Centre". There is a variety of small businesses including a cafe, barber and psychiatrist. There is a tennis court, playground and also a cricket field in the south of Lakelands. In 2015, Lakelands was expanded into a former bush area, adding a residential area to the west of the suburb, bordering Warners Bay.

Warners Bay High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Warners Bay, a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in January 1966, the school caters for approximately 1,300 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom three percent identified as Indigenous Australians and seven percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Marcus Neale.

Charlestown is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, Greater Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, and the largest suburb in the Lake Macquarie locality. It is approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) west-south-west of the central business district of Newcastle.

The Tickhole Tunnel, also called the Kotara (Tickhole) Railway Tunnel, is a heritage-listed double track railway tunnel that carries the Main Northern railway line beneath the Newcastle Inner City Bypass (A37) and is a diversion over the Tickhole Creek. The tunnel is located between Cardiff and Kotara stations in the City of Newcastle local government area of New South Wales, Australia.The original 161-metre (176 yd) tunnel opened on 15 August 1887. It initially only had one track, but provision was made for the line to be duplicated which duly occurred in 1891. As part of the electrification of the line, in 1983 tenders were called for a second tunnel, of 205 metres (673 ft), completed in 1984. This second tunnel is used by southbound services, while the original tunnel once again became single track for northbound services.

Cardiff Heights is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie, Greater Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. It is located 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of Newcastle's central business district, and is part of the City of Lake Macquarie West Ward.

Rankin Park () is a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, located 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Newcastle's central business district. It is split between the City of Lake Macquarie and City of Newcastle local government areas. The Aboriginal people, in this area, the Awabakal, were the first people of this land.The suburb began as a housing estate named Cambridge Hills Estate. The local preschool on McCaffrey Drive, formerly a sales office for the estate, retains the former estate's name. The east of the suburb contains George McGregor Park, a 19.66-hectare (48.58-acre) bushland reserve named after the late, former South Wallsend Progress Association member, George McGregor, is managed by the City of Newcastle.
