Bark Street School

The Swansea Friends Meeting House and Cemetery, at 223 Prospect Street in Somerset, Massachusetts, are a pair of religious properties believed to include the oldest extant Quaker meetinghouse in the state, with the oldest surviving meetinghouse form in which the pulpit and entrance face each other across the building's short dimension (instead of the 19th century form, where they stand at opposite ends of the long dimension). The oldest portion of the building dates to 1702, when Somerset was part of Swansea. Originally only 24 feet (7.3 m) wide, the building was significantly enlarged in 1746, adding side bays and a second floor gallery. In the 19th century the balconies were closed off to provide office space. The cemetery adjacent to the meetinghouse is also believed to be of great age; its oldest dated marker is 1831, but 18th century Quaker practice did not generally include the laying of markers, so there are likely a number of unmarked early graves.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Montaup Electric Company , or Somerset Power LLC, was a coal- and oil-fired power plant located in Somerset, Massachusetts, USA. The plant was closed in 2010, and was owned by Asset Recovery Group of New Jersey but was auctioned off and purchased by William Thibeault in 2013. The plant was slated for eventual demolition and redevelopment of the site but since it has been under new ownership, its final purpose has yet to be decided.

The Brayton Homestead is a historic house at 159 Brayton Avenue in Somerset, Massachusetts. Built about 1796, it is one of Somerset's oldest surviving houses, and a rare local example of Georgian/Federal residential architecture. It was built by John Brayton on land purchased by his grandfather, and remained in the family into the 20th century. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

The Veterans Memorial Bridge is a bascule bridge connecting Somerset, Massachusetts and Fall River, Massachusetts. The bridge carries U.S. Route 6 and Route 138 over the Taunton River, with connecting ramps to Route 79, and includes a bike path on its north side. The $290 million bridge was dedicated to area veterans on September 11, 2011. The bike path was also dedicated in a separate ceremony that same day in honor of Pvt. Michael E. Bouthot, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2006.The Veterans Memorial Bridge now serves as the pathway for Route 6 and Route 138 to cross the river into Fall River. Other than the Berkley-Dighton Bridge 8½ miles to the north, it is the only non-highway bridge spanning the river between Fall River and Taunton. Along with the Braga Bridge, it is one of the two major crossings of the river. This has led to the bridge having vital importance anytime there is a problem on the Braga; since the northern detour takes approximately twenty miles and the southern detour (over the Mount Hope Bridge and the Sakonnet River Bridge) is over twenty-five miles, it immediately becomes the major path for people coming in and out of the city, and vice versa.

Swansea is a town in Bristol County in southeastern Massachusetts. It is located at the mouth of the Taunton River, just west of Fall River, 47 miles (76 km) south of Boston, and 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Providence, Rhode Island. The population was 17,144 at the 2020 census. The villages of Hortonville, Barneyville and Ocean Grove are located in the town. Swansea is a part of the South Coast region of Massachusetts which encompasses the cities and towns that surround Buzzards Bay (excluding the Elizabeth Islands, Bourne and Falmouth), Mount Hope Bay and the Sakonnet River.

The Brightman Street Bridge is a 922-foot (281 m) long, four-lane wide drawbridge spanning the Taunton River between the town of Somerset and the city of Fall River, Massachusetts. It was authorized in 1903 by the state legislature, and building took place between 1906 and 1908, when it opened full-time on October 10, 1908. It was closed to vehicular traffic on October 11, 2011.At the time of its completion, it was the widest bridge to span the Taunton River, as the Slade's Ferry Bridge, a steel swingspan bridge built in 1875 less than a quarter mile downriver, was barely a two lane bridge. It once served as the pathway for Route 6 and Route 138 to cross the river into Fall River. Now the Veterans Memorial Bridge, just upstream, carries these routes between Somerset and Fall River.

Swansea Village Historic District is a historic district roughly along Main Street from Gardners Neck Road to Stephens Road, and Ledge Road in Swansea, Massachusetts. The district encompasses what emerged in the late 18th century as the principal municipal center of the town. The area that became Swansea Village was owned until about 1720 by members of the Eddy family, whose family graveyard lies in the district. By the early 19th century the junction of Main, Elm, and Stephens began to take shape as the nucleus of the village, and a meeting house, library, and eventually town hall followed.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Walkden Farm is a historic farmhouse in Swansea, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1800, and is a well-preserved example of a vernacular Federal style farmhouse. It has the typical five-bay center-entry layout with a large central chimney, with corner pilasters and a frieze below the roofline. The entry is in a single-story hip-roofed projection, with full-length sidelights. The property includes a c. 1885 barn.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Slade's Ferry Bridge was a steel swing truss bridge that spanned the Taunton River between Somerset, Massachusetts and Fall River, Massachusetts. It was built in 1875 and removed in 1970. The bridge had two levels: an upper deck carrying the Providence, Warren and Bristol Railroad, and a lower deck for road traffic. A swing section (replaced by a bascule after a ship strike in 1932) allowed river traffic to pass. The alignment of the bridge carried it from Remington Street in Fall River to the junction of Riverside Avenue, Brayton Avenue and Wilbur Avenue in Somerset.

Sagamore Mills No. 1 and No. 3 are two historic textile mills on Ace Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. Built in 1888 and 1908, they form part of one of the city's single largest textile operations of the late 19th century. Mills No. 1 and 3 were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, with a separate listing for Mill No. 2, located nearby on North Main Street.

Border City Mills is an historic textile mill site located at the corner of West Street and Weaver Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. The company was established in 1873 for the manufacture of cotton textiles. The company's first president was S. Angier Chace and George T. Hathaway was treasurer.The first Mill No.1 was erected in 1873 but was destroyed by fire in 1877. The current Mill No.1, located on West Street was constructed in 1880, from red brick, but of less ornate construction than the original 1873 mill. During the financial crisis of 1879, the company was re-organized with John S. Brayton as president. Mill No. 3 was later built 1888, on Weaver Street. The company was still operating in 1940. The site was determined eligible for the National Historic Register in 1983, but omitted due to owner's objection.However, Border City Mill No. 2, nearby was later added in 1990, under a separate NRHP listing. On February 20, 2016, an early morning fire destroyed Mill No. 3.

Foster Spinning Co. is an historic textile mill on Cove Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. The mill was built in 1916 from red brick and had a capacity of 13,312 spindles when built. It was the last new textile mill built in Fall River. Its buildings are not particularly architecturally distinctive, representing typical early-20th century mill construction, but the complex is relatively complete, including the original main mill, boiler house, smokestack, and wooden storage building. In 1920 the plant was enlarged, increasing its capacity to 25,000 spindles. The Foster Spinning Company operated on the premises until 1962.The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
