St Gredifael's Church is a former Church in Wales parish church in Penmynydd, Anglesey, Wales. The church was originally constructed in the 6th century by St Gredifael for whom it was named with the current stone building being constructed in the 12th century. The church holds the tomb of Goronwy ap Tudur Hen, a member of the House of Tudor and ancestor to the Tudor Kings of England. It is a grade II* listed building.

Rhyd-y-Saint railway station was situated on the Red Wharf Bay branch line between Holland Arms railway station and Benllech, the second station after the line branched from the main Anglesey Central Railway. Legend has it that the station's name (Ford of the Saints) is derived from the nearby ford where two of Anglesey's most famous saints, Cybi and Seiriol are said to have met from time to time. Opening in 1908 it was a very simple station with only one short (60 ft) platform on the Down (north-west) side and a wooden waiting hut. It was an unstaffed request stop with no goods yard or sidings. Access to the station was via a short flight of steps from the minor road passing above the station. A look at any modern or contemporary Ordnance Survey map will show that this, along with the preceding station Ceint are perhaps two of the most remote on the island. The station closed in 1930, as did the line itself to passenger trains, and the station building removed. The tracks themselves were taken up in 1953 and very little evidence remains of the station, the overgrown platform being just about visible.

St Ffinan's Church, Llanffinan is a small 19th-century parish church built in the Romanesque revival style, in Anglesey, north Wales. There has been a church in this area, even if not on this precise location, since at least 1254, and 19th-century writers state that St Ffinan established the first church here in the 7th century. The church was rebuilt in 1841, reusing a 12th-century font and 18th-century memorials, as well as the cross at the eastern end of the roof. The church is still used for worship by the Church in Wales, one of eight in a combined parish, and services are held weekly. It is a Grade II listed building, a national designation given to "buildings of special interest, which warrant every effort being made to preserve them", in particular because it is considered to be "a good essay in a simple Romanesque revival style". The church is at the end of a gravel track in the countryside of central Anglesey, about 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) from Llangefni, the county town. It is also on a footpath to Plas Penmynydd, once home to Owen Tudor, founder of the Tudor dynasty.

Rhos Cefn Hir (or Rhoscefnhir) is a village in the community of Pentraeth, Anglesey, Wales, which is 130.8 miles (210.5 km) from Cardiff and 210.8 miles (339.2 km) from London.

Cors Bodeilio National Nature Reserve lies in a shallow valley outside Talwrn on the Isle of Anglesey. Most of the land consists of a lime-rich mire. This type of wetland is rare, giving the reserve national importance. It is host to a large range of plants and animals, including the medicinal leech.A number of nationally local or rare species of plant have been recorded from the site including fen pondweed, several species of stonewort including the rare dwarf stonewort, olive earthtongue fungus (Microglossum olivaceum), fen pondweed, narrow-leaved marsh orchid and fly orchid The nature reserve is within a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, is also a Ramsar site and is also a special area of conservation (SAC).

It was an unstaffed request stop with neither goods yard nor sidings. Ordnance Survey maps show that this, along with the station next on the line Rhyd-y-Saint are two of the most remote on the island. When the line closed to passengers in 1930 the station building was removed. Although the tracks were taken up in 1953 the platform itself is still visible from a nearby road bridge.

Llanfairpwll railway station is a station on the North Wales Coast Line from Crewe to Holyhead, serving the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, Wales.

Bryn Celli Ddu Welsh pronunciation: [brʌn keːɬi ðɨː] is a prehistoric site on the Welsh island of Anglesey located near Llanddaniel Fab. Its name means 'the mound in the dark grove'. It was archaeologically excavated between 1928 and 1929. Visitors can get inside the mound through a stone passage to the burial chamber, and it is the centrepiece of a major Neolithic Scheduled Monument in the care of Cadw. The presence of a mysterious pillar within the burial chamber, the reproduction of the 'Pattern Stone', carved with sinuous serpentine designs, and the fact that the site was once a henge with a stone circle, and may have been used to plot the date of the summer solstice have all attracted much interest.

Pentraeth railway station was situated on the Red Wharf Bay branch line between Holland Arms railway station and Benllech, the third station after the line branched from the main Anglesey Central Railway. Opening on 1 July 1908, a quarter of a mile out of the village it was one of the two largest stations on the line. On the Up (east) side of the line stood the 120 ft (37 m) platform with several associated huts. Unlike the previous two stations Ceint and Rhyd-y-Saint this was staffed, albeit by a maximum of two people at any one time. There was also a small goods yard just south of the platform. It was also the nearest station for the town of Beaumaris. The station closed in 1930, the line closed completely in 1950 the track was removed in 1953 and the station building removed. There is no evidence of the station or goods yard left as the site has houses built upon it.

Llanddyfnan is a village and community in Anglesey, Wales, located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north east of Llangefni, 6.6 miles (10.6 km) north west of Menai Bridge and 7.1 miles (11.4 km) west of Beaumaris.

Llanddaniel Fab (or Llanddaniel-fab) is a village and community in Anglesey, Wales. At the 2001 census it had a population of 699, increasing to 776 at the 2011 census.It is near the prehistoric monument of Bryn Celli Ddu which was constructed in the late Neolithic period. In the east of the community, by the Menai Strait, stands the country seat of the Marquess of Anglesey, Plas Newydd, parts of which date from the 14th century. The house has been owned by the National Trust since 1976. In the 16th century the poet Catrin ferch Gruffudd ap Hywel lived here. Her Welsh poems are preserved and they include an Awdl with a religious theme written in 1555.During the 2001 United Kingdom foot-and-mouth crisis, many sheep and cattle were slaughtered in the area.The village has its own community council and its county council representative is Hywel Eifion Jones, who has held the post since May 1999. Amenities include a post office, primary school (Ysgol Parc y Bont), and a 12-hole golf course.Probably the village's most famous son is Tecwyn Roberts (1925-1988), who became NASA’s first Flight Dynamics Officer with Project Mercury that put the first American into space. Roberts was born at Trefnant Bach cottage in Llanddaniel Fab and was a former pupil of Ysgol Parc y Bont. After serving as a member of the Avro Arrow project team and the Space Task Group, Roberts transferred to NASA where he eventually became chief of the Manned Flight Support Division, chief of the Network Engineering Division during the Apollo Program and later Director of Networks at Goddard Space Flight Center.The village was struck by an F1/T2 tornado on 23 November 1981, as part of the record-breaking nationwide tornado outbreak on that day.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, or Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll (Welsh: [ɬanˌvair puɬˈɡwɨ̞nɡɨ̞ɬ]), is a large village and local government community on the island of Anglesey, Wales, on the Menai Strait next to the Britannia Bridge and across the strait from Bangor. Both shortened (Llanfairpwll or Llanfair PG) and lengthened (Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch) forms of the placename are used in various contexts (with the longer form pronounced [ˌɬanvair pʊɬˌɡwɨ̞ŋɡɨ̞ɬ ɡɔˌɡɛrə ˌχwərn ˌdrɔbʊɬ ˌɬan təˌsɪljɔ ˌɡɔɡɔ ˈɡoːχ] (listen)). At the 2011 Census, the population was 3,107, of whom 71% could speak Welsh. It is the sixth largest settlement on the island by population. The long form of the name, with 58 characters split into 18 syllables, is purported to be the longest place name in Europe and the second longest one-word place name in the world.
