It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, on October 19, 2015.The 2017 by-election was won by Liberal candidate and former White Rock mayor Gordie Hogg. However, the Conservatives were quick to regain their seat with Kerry-Lynne Findlay winning the 43nd Canadian federal election, defeating Gordie Hogg who entered Parliament through a by-election.

Cloverdale Learning Centre is a public high school in Surrey, British Columbia part of School District 36 Surrey. It is a school providing an alternative schooling option, It is for students that struggle in or were removed from Mainstream schools. Teachers give the students units to work on, and once they are done the unit, they do a test. Students have a variety of times to come to the school: morning, afternoon.They can work ahead to graduate faster, or go at their own pace. Most students go to school for 3 hours from Monday to Thursday, but some choose to go for 6 hours. However long the student goes, depends on the amount of work they want to get done. Teachers are around and are able to help the student if they need that extra help. Students may choose to continue on to graduate at the centre or return to the mainstream school if approved by the School Administration.

St. John Paul II Academy is the newest co-ed Catholic Secondary school, under the administration of Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) school board in Canada. The new Catholic high school was commissioned under the leadership of Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB of the Vancouver Catholic Archdiocese. The new campus will open in Hazelmere, South Surrey, in 2025.

Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair is an annual rodeo and fair located in the town of Cloverdale in Surrey, British Columbia. It is held annually at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds during the Victoria Day holiday weekend, from the Friday to Monday. Attendance in 2006 was over 20,000.
