Death and the Sculptor, also known as the Milmore Monument and The Angel of Death and the Young Sculptor is a sculpture in bronze, and one of the most important and influential works of art created by sculptor Daniel Chester French. The work was commissioned to mark the grave in Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts, of the brothers Joseph (1841–1886), James and Martin Milmore (1844–1883). It has two figures effectively in the round, linked to a background relief behind them. The right-hand figure represents a sculptor, whose hand holding a chisel is gently restrained by the fingers of the left-hand figure, representing Death, here shown as a winged female.

Boston Nature Center in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts is a 67-acre (27 ha) wildlife refuge of the Massachusetts Audubon Society that opened in 2002 with the dedication of a new building, the George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center. "On the former grounds of the Boston State Hospital, the Boston Nature Center is a community-based urban sanctuary. Trails and boardwalks traverse meadows and wetlands, home to over 150 species of birds, 40 species of butterflies, and more than 350 species of plants. Year-round programs help foster an appreciation for nature and the environment."The center's 2020 Strategic Plan sets out numerous goals in three broad areas: Connect People and Nature for the Benefit of Both, Protect and Care for Land and Habitats of Significance, and Address the Challenges of Climate Change. A portion of the Nature Center's land has been used since 1969 as the Clark Cooper Community Garden. The garden, which is managed by the Boston Food Forest Coalition, makes 300 individual plots available to community members.

Arborway station was an MBTA light rail stop and bus transfer location in Boston, Massachusetts. It served the MBTA Green Line E branch. It was located in Arborway Yard near the Forest Hills station complex. It closed in 1985 when the outer section of the branch was temporarily—and ultimately permanently—closed.

Boston State Hospital is a historic mental hospital located in Mattapan and Dorchester, Massachusetts. The court case Rogers v. Okin, which increases patient consent rights, was filed by a class action lawsuit against the hospital. The hospital was closed in 1979, and has been completely demolished and the site is in the process of being redeveloped as part of Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Forest Hills station is an intermodal transfer station in Boston, Massachusetts. It serves the MBTA rapid transit Orange Line and three MBTA Commuter Rail lines (Needham, Providence/Stoughton, and Franklin/Foxboro) and is a major terminus for MBTA bus routes. It is located in Forest Hills, in the southern part of the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Most Providence/Stoughton Line and Franklin/Foxboro Line trains, and all Amtrak Northeast Corridor trains, pass through the station without stopping. The station is surrounded by large parks. To the west of the station is Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum, part of Boston's Emerald Necklace; to the east are the Forest Hills Cemetery and Franklin Park, another part of Boston's Emerald Necklace. The station also marks the southern end of the linear Southwest Corridor Park, built over and around the Southwest Corridor (which carries Amtrak, commuter rail, and Orange Line trains into the center of Boston). Several small retailers are located in the station, including a doughnut/coffee shop, newspaper stand and florist. During warmer months, a farmers' stand is set up. In addition, the station features an MBTA Police substation. Park and ride parking spaces for 206 cars are available on the station grounds. Forest Hills station is fully accessible on all modes.

Forest Hills is a part of the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Forest Hills is characterized by hilly terrain and wooded areas within and adjacent to its borders. In general, the area slopes upward from Hyde Park Ave and downward from Walk Hill Street. Forest Hills is primarily residential, although a number of small businesses are located along Hyde Park Avenue. Single family homes predominate south of Walk Hill Street, but triple deckers dominate near the train station. As in the rest of Jamaica Plain, many of the multi-unit houses have been converted into condominiums. A variety of home styles are represented including Arts & Crafts, Cape Cod, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival and Victorian. South of Walk Hill Street, Forest Hills is characterized by curving, tree-lined streets laid out in irregular patterns indicative of how the area was thoughtfully transformed from country estates into a streetcar suburb.

Doyle's Cafe was a pub located on Washington Street in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Doyle's Cafe was established in 1882 and is located near the Samuel Adams brewery. Its close proximity to the brewery afforded Doyle's the unique opportunity to serve new or experimental Samuel Adams beers. It is also where Samuel Adams Boston Lager was first put on tap. Throughout its history, Doyle's was known as a favorite watering hole for both local and national politicians. On St. Patrick's Day in 1988, Senator Ted Kennedy helped dedicate a new room at the location to his maternal grandfather, John F. Fitzgerald.Boston musician Rick Berlin was a long-time employee at Doyle's Cafe. Given its historic look, atmosphere and popularity in the LGBTQ community the Irish pub has been used in several Hollywood movies and television series. Shots of the exterior of the building were used in the television series Boston Public. The pub also appeared in films such as 21, Patriots Day, Celtic Pride, Mystic River, and The Brink's Job. A local bartender who appeared in the film eventually moved to California to pursue acting.Doyle's permanently closed at midnight on October 26, 2019. However, in October 2021, a development project to revive Doyle's was approved.

The English High School in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1821, is one of the first public high schools in the United States.
