Flaskebekk is a village in Nesodden municipality and Viken county, Norway. The village is located on the northwestern end of Nesoddtangen peninsula, south of Oslo. It looks onto the Oslofjord and Oslo, Bærum, and Asker in the distance. The area borders Tangen to the North; Bjørnemyr to the South; and Skoklefall to the East. Flaskebekk is known for 'Strandpromenaden' - the beach promenade - which hugs the coastline south of Nordre Flaskebekk pier. Along the promenade are badehus - small 'bath houses' usually owned by local families and simply furnished for day trips to the fjord. A ferry on the Oslo - Drøbak route stops at Nordre Flaskebekk pier during the summer months. Flaskebekk played a role in the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II. Corncrake, a clandestine radio station belonging to resistance organization Milorg, was located in a summer house in Flaskebekk. German soldiers ambushed the location on April 4, 1944; Leif Kyrre Karlsen, Ivar William Wagle, and Tell Christian Wagle, the station's three undercover agents, lost their lives in the ambush. A small plaque has been erected at Flaskebekkveien to commemorate the radio station.

Lysakerfjorden (English: Lysaker Fjord) is an arm of the Oslofjord in Norway. It starts at the mouth of the Lysaker River, and is bordered by the peninsulas Snarøya to the west and Bygdøy to the east.

Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital is a hospital in Nesodden, Norway, and a health trust under Helse Sør-Øst. Sunnaas is the country's largest specialized hospital in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Patient services include cancer services, brain injuries after accidents or disease, multiple injuries, burns, and neurology. The rehabilitation program covers primary rehabilitation, controlled return, and patient programs. The hospital has policlinics in Oslo and on Nesodden and runs laboratory research on the hospital's behalf. Research is a central part of the trust's work. The hospital has its own research department and uses both medical students and their own health personnel.

Simula Research Laboratory (also known as Simula) is a Norwegian non-profit research organisation located in Oslo, Norway. Simula was founded in 2001 by the Norwegian government to conduct fundamental, long-term research within information and communication technology (ICT). Simula's research is concentrated on five areas: communication systems, scientific computing, software engineering, cybersecurity, and machine learning.In addition to conducting research at a high international level, Simula works to apply research in both industry and the public sector, and to educate graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in collaboration with partner universities, Norwegian and international. As of 2020, the organisation includes six subsidiaries, employing over 155 employees from more than 35 countries.

The Battle of Fornebu was an engagement that occurred on 9 April 1940 during Operation Weserübung when the Germans launched an assault on Oslo, the capital of Norway. Seven fighter planes from the vastly outnumbered Norwegian Army Air Service took to the skies to engage the German forces and managed to shoot down four planes against the loss of one before running out of fuel.

Fornebu (local form Fornebo) is a peninsular area in the suburban municipality of Bærum in Norway, bordering western parts of Oslo. Oslo Airport, Fornebu (FBU) served as the main airport for Oslo and the country since before World War II and until the evening of October 7, 1998, when it was closed down. Overnight, a grand moving operation was performed, so that the following morning, the new main airport, located inland at Gardermoen (OSL), opened for operations as the main airport, as opposed to previously having been a minor airport.As of 2001, the Fornebu area is being developed as a centre for information technology and telecom industry, as well as there being some housing project developments nearby. The new headquarters of Norway's telecom giant Telenor are located in the area.The peninsula is connected to Langodden and Snarøya, which are more established areas of private residences.

Bjørnemyr is a Norwegian village located on the west coast of the municipality of Nesodden. The Bjørnemyr Centre contains a grocery store, a hairdresser and spa, and a doctor's office. Recently a small mall was built not far from the Bjørnemyr Centre, which included a grocery store, a small café, a health store, and cutlery. The Sunnaas Hospital lies near Bjørnemyr. Bjørnemyr has an elementary school and a kindergarten situated right next to each other. Bjørnemyr Elementary School has a section for both physically and mentally challenged children.

Based in Oslo, the company's critical offerings to the energy industry include the systems and services required to de-carbonize oil and gas production, build wind-to-grid infrastructure and engineer CO2 capture and sequestration. Founded in 1841 as Akers Mekaniske Verksted, the company has been called Aker, Aker Kvaerner and Aker Solutions (2008). In 2020, the company announced a merger with Kværner ASA. In 2023, the company trades on the Oslo stock exchange under the symbol 'AKSO'. Aker Kværner was founded in 2004 from the major restructuring of a complex "Aker Kværner" business unit formed in 2002 by the merger of Aker Maritime and Kværner Oil & Gas. On 3 April 2008, Aker Kværner was renamed Aker Solutions in part due to the difficulty non-Scandinavians found in pronouncing "Kværner". The company was majority controlled by Aker ASA until 2007. Then, via major ownership restructuring on 22 June 2007, Aker ASA gave up its holding in Aker Solutions and transferred a 40% stake to Aker Holding, which in turn was owned by Aker ASA (60%), the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry (30%), SAAB (7.5%) and Investor AB (2.5%).

Huk is a parkland and a sandy beach (Hukodden) at the furthest south of the Bygdøy peninsula west of the city center of Oslo, Norway. The area was acquired by Aker municipality in 1921. The bathing beach is divided into a regular public beach and a naturist beach area. The naturist beach is on a shank northwest of Hukodden, formerly the garden of the brush manufacturer Jordan.Jens Stoltenberg's second government bought in 2005 a villa with shoreline bordering the public beach at Huk, and in 2006 opened a new public beach there. The villa was later resold but the shoreline is still open for all.Just off the beach area are sculptures, Large Arch (1963–1969) by Henry Moore and Icarus (1965) and Døhlen by Anne Sofie Døhlen (1967).The area is accessible by bus number 30 from central Oslo.
