Billingham is a town and civil parish in County Durham, England. The town is on the north side of the River Tees and is governed as part of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees unitary authority. It had a population of 35,165 in the 2011 Census. The settlement has been around since Anglo-Saxon times as a village, a post-Second World War modern town centre was built north of the old village centre on the town's grange. It was a township with an urban district from 1923 until 1968, when it was absorbed into the County Borough of Teesside, and part of the county of Cleveland.Billingham is home to the Billingham Manufacturing Plant which is a major producer of Chemicals for agriculture.

The college provides A-Level, vocational courses, apprenticeship training, and higher education courses. It is a TASS accredited college, with a dedicated sports centre situated on its site. It was established in 1972, following a reorganisation of various schools on the Billingham Campus site. The college took its name from the famous Northumbrian scholar The Venerable Bede. It merged with Stockton Riverside College in May 2008. The college group now also includes Redcar and Cleveland College, NETA Training and The Skills Academy, it is known as the Education Training Collective (Etc.).

Wolviston benefits from two pubs, the Wellington Inn and the Ship. It has a traditional village green and a duck pond.

The combined authority covers five council areas: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees. A LEP of the same name was established in 2011 and became part of the 2016-created Tees Valley Combined Authority with the local council.

Founded in 1976, they currently play in the FA Women's National League Division One North, with home games played at Bishopton Road West, Stockton. Middlesbrough were founding members of the Northern Combination in 1998, and spent much of their early history in the third and fourth tiers of woman's football, aside from a brief spell in the second tier FA Women's Premier League Northern Division from 2002 to 2006. The club officially became affiliated with the men's team in 2023. Middlesbrough also have a reserve side competing in the FA Women's National League Reserve Northern Division. Their home games are played at Middlesbrough College.
