McNair Field

West Main Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It encompasses 27 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing object in a predominantly residential section of Forest City. The district developed after 1867, and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Cool Springs High School designed by Louis H. Asbury (1877-1975). Other notable contributing resources include the Cool Springs Cemetery (est. 1867), First Presbyterian Church (1940), the Cool Springs Gymnasium (1958), Lovelace-Ragin House (1928), Harrill-Wilkins House (1925), Frank B. and Mae Bridges Wilkins House (c. 1910), McDaniel House (1913), Biggerstaff-Griffin House (1925), and McMurry-Bodie House (1928).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Cliffside Public School is a historic school complex located at Cliffside, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Louis H. Asbury (1877-1975) and built in 1920–1921. It is a two-story on basement, "T"-plan, Classical Revival style terra cotta tile building sheathed in glazed brick. The front facade features a tetrastyle two-story portico of Indiana limestone. The vocational and physical education building, erected by the Work Projects Administration in 1940–1941. Also on the property are the contributing series of fieldstone masonry structures built in 1940–1941.It sits on landscaped grounds designed by Earle Sumner Draper.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Cool Springs High School is a historic high school building located at Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Louis H. Asbury (1877-1975) and built in 1924. It is a two-story on basement, "T"-plan, Classical Revival style red brick building. The front facade features a shallow four-column Tuscan order portico with echoing pilasters. In May 1998 it ceased to be used for instructional purposes.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is located in the West Main Street Historic District. Note: There was also a historic Cool Spring High School in Cool Springs Township, Iredell County, North Carolina.

Forest City Baptist Church, also known as First Baptist Church, is a historic Baptist church building located at 301 W. Main Street in Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect James M. McMichael and built in 1915. It is a two-story, cruciform plan, Classical Revival style brick building. It consists of an octagonal core surmounted by an eight-sided, slate-covered, pyramidal roof from which rectangular pedimented-gable wings project on the four sides. Adjoining the church is the Alexander Memorial building, built in 1927.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Baldwin, the Blanton Hotel (1925), the Reinhardt Drug Company Building (by 1908), the First Wesleyan Church (1922), and the Florence Mill (1897-1941).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, with a boundary increase in 2004.

T. Max Watson House is a historic home located at Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It built in 1939, and is a two-story, five-bay, central passage plan, Georgian Revival style white brick dwelling. It has a side-gable roof covered with interlocking red clay tiles. The front facade features a central projecting bay, one-story portico supported by three Ionic order columns, and second floor Palladian window.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. It is located in the East Main Street Historic District.

Max Watson House. Other notable buildings include the Brown-Griffith House (1923), Dr. W. C. Bostic Jr. House (1926), John W. and Bertha M. Dalton House (1939), J. H. Thomas House (1922), and the Marley Sigmon House (1962).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Alexander Manufacturing Company Mill Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States. It encompasses 87 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Forest City developed by the Alexander Manufacturing Company. The mill village developed after 1918, and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Landscape architect Earle Sumner Draper planned the curvilinear village plan. Notable buildings include the Alexander Manufacturing Company mill complex, former Alexander School, and Alexander Baptist Church. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

James Dexter Ledbetter House is a historic home located near Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It built in 1914, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, double pile frame dwelling with Classical Revival and Colonial Revival style design elements. It sits on a low brick foundation and has a hipped roof. The front facade features a two-story engaged portico supported by Tuscan order columns, with a one-story wraparound section also supported by Tuscan columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
