Loma Mar (Spanish for "Sea Hill") is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Mateo County, California. It is near San Mateo County Memorial Park on Pescadero Creek Road and is in area code 650. Loma Mar is between the towns of Pescadero and La Honda, situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the western part of the San Francisco Peninsula. The United States Postal Service has assigned it ZIP Code 94021. As of the census of 2020, there were 134 residents in the CDP. Loma Mar is home to the YMCA's Camp Loma Mar, Redwood Glen Camp and Conference Center as well as a small number of businesses and services including the Loma Mar Store, a post office, and a fire station run by volunteers.

Bellvale is a populated place in San Mateo County, located at 37°18′43″N 122°19′12″W. The small community is on Highway 84 (La Honda Road) between San Gregorio and La Honda, at 240 feet above sea level.Bellvale was named for the Bell family, who settled in the area in the mid-nineteenth century. James Bell paid for construction of a schoolhouse in 1869, which served children from nearby La Honda. Although Bellvale once had a post office, the community is now only sparsely settled with homes and farms. The Bellvale post office, located 2.25 miles west of La Honda, opened in 1897 and was discontinued in 1922. U.S. Geological Survey maps show oil wells in the area, tapping a relatively small pool of petroleum that was first identified in the nineteenth century.

Memorial Park, located in Loma Mar, San Mateo County, California, United States, is operated by the San Mateo County Department of Parks. The park encompasses 673 acres (2.72 km2), and includes old-growth redwood trees, eight miles (13 km) of hiking trails, camping areas, picnic facilities, a visitor center, a camp store, a creek swimming area, and campfire programs. Pescadero Creek, which provides winter habitat for steelhead trout, runs through the park. Bloomquist, Hoffman, McCormick, and Peterson Creeks join Pescadero Creek within the park boundaries. Memorial Park trails link to Pescadero Creek Park from the Hoffman Flat Trailhead along the Old Haul Road trail, which also links into Sam McDonald County Park, Portola Redwoods State Park, and Big Basin Redwoods State Park (via easement across private lands).

The creek flows about 7 miles (11 km), from its source in Kings Mountain (37°24′44″N 122°18′40″W) near Skeggs Point on Skyline Boulevard (CA 35), to its confluence with San Gregorio Creek about 2.7 miles east of San Gregorio. The bulk of El Corte de Madera Creek's upper watershed is in El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, which features popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
