The 1987 Bintaro train accident occurred in Pondok Betung urban village, Bintaro, South Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday 19 October 1987. Two passenger trains collided, causing 139 fatalities, making it the worst railway crash in Indonesia to date. A train departing from Rangkasbitung Station in West Java province (currently in Banten) collided with a train from Tanah Abang Station in Jakarta. The investigation indicated negligence from a station officer who gave a safe signal to the train from Rangkasbitung without confirmation from Kebayoran Station. The safe signal was given because the lines at Sudimara Station were crowded.

Icon Towers is a multi functional complex of two under construction skyscraper, named as Icon Tower 1 and 2 at Setiabudi, South Jakarta, Indonesia. This is a mixed complex for hotel, residence and office. Tower 1 has 77 floors and 350 meters height, where as Tower 2 has 55 floors and 200+ meter height. The complex has a podium of 15 floors to connect two tower. The complex was expected to be completed by 2019.

The Indosiar Television Tower is a 395 m (1,296 ft) guyed mast used for FM- and TV-broadcasting in West Jakarta, Indonesia, completed in 2006. It is currently the tallest structure in Indonesia. It consists of a 375 metre tall lattice structure with a side length of 6.3 m (20.7 ft), which carries on its top a 20 m (65.6 ft) high TV-broadcasting antenna. The upper parts of the mast are guyed to a 120 m (390 ft) triangular lattice steel structure with a side length of 56 m (183.7 ft), which was built around the mast. This special design, which gives the tower a unique shape, was chosen because of the lack of space available on the site. Broadcasting is run by the local television network, SCTV and Indosiar, both of which is owned by Surya Citra Media, a part of Elang Mahkota Teknologi.

Bintaro Jaya is a planned township located in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. It is developed by PT Jaya Real Property Tbk (formerly PT Bintaro Jaya). The development of the township began within South Jakarta in 1979 and is expanded further to South Tangerang in Banten province. The township is built as a satellite city for Jakarta, with a total land area of about 1000 hectares. The name Bintaro is derived from the Bintaro Village, which also takes the name of Bintaro plant (Cerbera manghas), whereas Jaya came from the name of the developer.

Pondok Ranji Station (PRJ) is a railway station on the KRL Commuterline Green Line in East Ciputat, South Tangerang. On August 20, 2020, Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, attended the Groundbreaking New Image and Accessibility Improvement of Pondok Ranji Station. The inauguration is the start of the construction or renovation of Pondok Ranji station. In January 2022, the renovations have finished and Pondok Ranji station has a new shape.The station is located at the elevation of +25 metres above sea level. Pondok Ranji is one of two stations serving the Bintaro housing area, along with Jurangmangu, located about 2 kilometers southwest.

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara or Museum MACAN is an art museum at Kebon Jeruk in Jakarta, Indonesia. The museum is the first in Indonesia to have a collection of modern and contemporary Indonesian and international art. It has a floor area of 7,107 square meters with display area of about 4,000 square meters. The museum is included in a list of the World’s 100 Greatest Places 2018 released by Time magazine. Museum MACAN opened in November 2017.

Perigi Lama, Parigi Lama, or simply Perigi is a kelurahan (village) at Pondok Aren district, South Tangerang, Banten. Perigi Lama in Indonesian means "Old Perigi" because the neighboring kelurahan/village is called Perigi Baru which in opposite means "New Perigi".

The British School of Jakarta (BSJ) is an independent school in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. The British School of Jakarta is an international member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference. It was established in Jakarta in 1973 under the auspices of the British Embassy. The main campus was relocated to Bintaro in 1994 to accommodate increasing numbers of students, and an early years centre was opened in Pondok Indah in 1999. The school offers classes for students from pre-school to year 13 based on a British curriculum, with the final two years covered by the International Baccalaureate diploma program. The school was enforced to change its name from British International School to British School Jakarta in 2014 to correspond to the Indonesian government's regulations on prohibiting the use of the word "international" in school names.
