Buckswood School is a private school for boys and girls that was founded in 1933. Originally the school was situated in Uckfield and known as Buckswood Grange School. In 2000, it re-located to the village of Guestling between the towns of Rye and Hastings in East Sussex.

The Hastings Academy opened on 1 September 2011 moving into a new building during February 2013. The school has around 900 students and over 100 staff. The Principal is Mr Simon Addison. It is run by the University of Brighton Academies Trust.

Doleham is a small hamlet in East Sussex, England. The hamlet consists of only a handful of houses, and takes its name from Doleham Farm. The area is popular with walkers at weekends. The hamlet is served by Doleham railway station.

The Parish Church of St Laurence is a Church of England church and listed building in the village of Guestling in the Rother District of East Sussex. The church was founded in Saxon times, though the current building consists of a Norman tower and a nave and chancel which were originally 13th century but which were largely rebuilt between 1884 and 1891. It is listed as Grade I for the tower only.

Christ Church is an Anglican church in the Ore area of the town and borough of Hastings, one of six local government districts in the English county of East Sussex. It is one of three Anglican churches with this dedication in the borough. The Decorated Gothic-style church, in the centre of a village which has been surrounded by suburban development, was built in 1858 to supplement Ore's parish church, St Helen's. The most distinctive structural feature, a corner bell turret, has been described as both "outstanding" and "very naughty" by architectural historians. English Heritage has listed the building at Grade II for its architectural and historical importance.

Ore is a large suburb of the urban area of Hastings, in the Hastings district, in the county of East Sussex, England. Formerly a village, it is still known and advertised locally as "Ore Village". It is located 1.3 miles (2.1 km) to the north-east of Hastings town centre, on the main A259 road to Rye. Its name may have originated from the Old English word for "stream-bank". The Ore Stream still runs through a large central Woodland area known locally as Speckled Wood at the top of the Valley. It is the largest suburb of Hastings. Ore Valley lies to the west of Ore Village, and is the site of Ore Railway Station and the former Broomgrove power station. It is also the site of the Hastings Millennium Community regeneration project.

Hastings Cemetery is a cemetery in Hastings, East Sussex, located off the Ridge road. The cemetery was opened on 28 November 1856. The Church of England section was consecrated by Ashurst Gilbert, Bishop of Chichester, followed by a service in All Saints Church.Hastings Crematorium is located within the cemetery. It was built in 1955, incorporating two Gothic-style burial chapels built in 1856 of local sandstone.

Speckled Wood is a 12.7-acre (5.1 ha) woodland and park in Ore Village in the Ore Valley, Hastings, East Sussex, United Kingdom. The woodland park consists of woodland trails and clearings. The woodland has steep sixty-degree sides and is a wet woodland. The wood is a habitat to a wealth of mammals, birds and invertebrates. There is a stream that runs right through the wood. The name Speckled Wood is believed to have come from the butterflies of the same name that thrive here, the speckled wood (SP1861). Speckled Wood falls within Ore's development area to the northeast of Hastings, where major housing and industrial development has been concentrated during the last two decades. Despite considerable new development in the area, the woodland has been retained since 1930.Speckled Wood, together with nearby fragments of woodland and tree belts, represents a sizeable proportion of green space within the urban area of Hastings and is a conspicuous landscape feature. It is a core area of natural habitat within the town. It is possible to enter the natural area from points within Ore Village using the long established footpaths.

All Souls Church is a former Anglican church that served the Clive Vale suburb of Hastings, a seaside resort town and borough in the English county of East Sussex, between 1890 and 2007. The "large [and] serious town church" has been described as one of the best works by prolific ecclesiastical architect Arthur Blomfield. Built almost wholly of brick, inside and out, it dominates the streetscape of the late Victorian suburb and has a tall, "dramatic" interior displaying many of Blomfield's favourite architectural features. The church also has Heaton, Butler and Bayne stained glass and an elaborate reredos. Falling attendances and high maintenance costs caused it to close after a final service in November 2007, and the Diocese of Chichester officially declared it redundant soon afterwards. English Heritage has listed it at Grade II* for its architectural and historical importance.

Westfield is a village and civil parish in the Rother district of East Sussex. It is one of the largest villages in the area with a population of around 2,750. The village lies five miles (8 km) north of Hastings. It was known as Westewelle in the Domesday survey. The parish includes the linear hamlet of Kent Street along the A21 road. This spans 800 yards from Carpenter's Barn Farm at the southern end past Claverton Country House Hotel up to Sedlescombe Golf Club at the northern end. A prominent sight when entering the village from the south is the church dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Its many features include extensive buttressing, a 12th-century porch and a 14th-century font with an elaborate 17th-century cover. Above the door to the tower there is carved a Royal Coat of Arms with the list of vicars since 1250 set below. Looking towards the nave there is a Norman arch with squint windows to the side, cut through the 32 inches of stone. Another feature at the road entrance is the lychgate, with its four carved angels; this was added in 1887. The history of Westfield has been extensively researched by a resident of Westfield descended from a family who appear in the records from 1552. Westfield Football Club play in the Sussex County League Division Two.
