Ciney (French pronunciation: [sinɛ] ; Walloon: Cînè) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. As of 2018, Ciney had a total population of 16,439. The total area is 147.56 km2 which gives a population density of 111 inhabitants per km2.

Leignon Castle is a nineteenth century castle located in Wallonia, in the Namur province of Belgium, a few kilometers south of Ciney. It is a private castle with restricted access to the public.

Chapois is twinned with a village of the same name, Chapois in France. It is served by its own railway station, on the Namur - Arlon - Luxembourg line. The next station to the north-west is Leignon and the next station to the east is Haversin.

Jannée Castle (French: Château de Jannée) is a castle in Jannée in the village of Pessoux, municipality of Ciney, province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium.

Haversin Castle (French: Château de Haversin) is a 17th-century château in the hamlet of Haversin, part of the village of Serinchamps in the municipality of Ciney, province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium.

Chevetogne Abbey (French: Abbaye de Chevetogne), also known as the Monastery of the Holy Cross, is a Catholic Benedictine monastery dedicated to Christian unity located in the Belgian village of Chevetogne in the municipality of Ciney, province of Namur, halfway between Brussels and Luxembourg. Currently, the monastery has 27 monks.

Assesse (French pronunciation: [a.sɛs]) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On 1 January 2006, Assesse had a total population of 6,252. The total area is 78.16 km2 which gives a population density of 80 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Assesse, Courrière, Crupet, Florée, Maillen, Sart-Bernard, and Sorinne-la-Longue. The village of Crupet is noted for its grotto dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the Crupet Castle, a moated medieval donjon, and its windmills.

The N4 road in Belgium is a highway that runs from Brussels to Luxembourg. It starts as chaussée de Wavre at Porte de Namur on the Brussels inner ring and runs south east through Wavre and Namur, Marche-en-Famenne, Bastogne, Martelange and Arlon before terminating as route de Luxembourg at the Luxembourg border. On its route is crosses the Meuse and Lessive Rivers and the Belgian Ardennes. Before the development of motorways the N4 was a main artery for traffic going south east from Brussels and it was dotted with many friteries, cafes and petrol stations. From the 1960s to the end of the 1980s, it has been superseded by the completion of the A4 motorway which runs from Delta in Brussels down past Arlon where shortly after it enters Luxembourg where it becomes part of the Luxembourg by-pass system until it reaches the south of the city where it turns south continuing down to Thionville and Metz in France and onwards. By diverting the traffic away from the N4 the motorway has caused the closure of most of these traditional Belgian friteries. Outside of major towns the N4 mostly consists of dual carriageway with the opposing lanes separated by a central reservation or concrete blocks, but certain sections are still without any form of physical separation and have been the scene of many fatal accidents. The N4 still offers a more pleasurable and scenic route to the south of Belgium for the less pressed driver and for bicyclists. The end sections remain busy routes during the rush hour due to the high number of commuters travelling to and from Brussels and Luxembourg from residential communities all over the area. Stretches of the road continue to be renovated. The N4 crosses or borders 29 municipalities in total. 4 of them in the Brussels Capital Region, 2 in Flemish Brabant, 5 in Walloon Brabant, 7 in Namur and 11 in Luxembourg. The Condroz (French pronunciation: [kɔ̃dʁo]) is a natural region in Wallonia (the French-speaking part of Belgium), located to the north-west of the Ardennes. Its unofficial capital is Ciney. The region preserves the name of the Condrusi, a Germanic tribe which inhabited the area in the Roman era. Compared to other parts of Belgium, the Condroz is a sparsely populated, agricultural area. It consists of low hills of an average altitude of about 200 to 300 meters (670–970 feet). It is mainly situated in the provinces of Liège and Namur and also in smaller parts of the Belgian provinces of Hainaut and Luxembourg. It is bordered in the north by the Meuse river, in the east by the Ardennes, in the south by the Famenne region. Historically, the Condroz did not stretch west of the Meuse, but today there is a western section, south of Namur and the Sambre river stretching to the Thiérache and southern Hainaut.

The A4 is a Belgian motorway connecting Brussels and the A6 in Luxembourg. The motorway is part of E411 between Brussels and Arlon. This motorway, the longest of Belgium (188km), is also nicknamed the "Autoroute de la Nouvelle Belgique" as opposed to the structuring axis Liège-Tournai (crossing an aging industrial zone). Indeed, the A4 connects rapidly developing centers such as Brussels and the city of Luxembourg, and it crosses economic zones full of vitality: the south-eastern suburbs of Brussels, Walloon Brabant and in particular Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Namur the new capital of Wallonia since 1986, and the country of Arlon.

Grandpré Abbey (French: Abbaye de Grandpré) is a former Cistercian abbey located at Faulx-les-Tombes (in the present municipality of Gesves), in the province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium. The only remains of the abbey are the gatehouse and the attached range at the main entrance, the farm buildings and the mill, once powered by the Samson brook, which crosses the site.
