Apartment Building on Windsor Avenue and Brunswick St., also known as the Windsor Avenue Apartment Building, is a historic apartment building located in the Raleigh Court neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. It was built in 1928, and is a two-story, U-shaped Tudor Revival style apartment building constructed of stone, brick, half timbering, and stucco. The building enclosed a courtyard plaza with stone paved sidewalks, stone walls (2 contributing structures), historic post lights and two decorative pools with waterfall (2 contributing objects). Also on the property is a contributing detached garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Roanoke Valley Governor's School for Science and Technology (RVGS) is a Governor's School in Grandin Court, Roanoke, Virginia, United States. RVGS is a magnet school with students from the Roanoke Valley and Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area districts. The Roanoke Valley Governor's School for Science and Technology was established in 1985 as one of the original five Academic Year Governor's Schools (AYGS) in Virginia. As an AYGS program, RVGS receives funding from the participating school divisions and the state. The school is a regional program, operated and governed by the RVGS Regional Board populated by one member of each participating division's local School Boards.

The English Gardens Apartments is a historic complex of apartment buildings located in Roanoke, Virginia. The complex was designed by the Richmond-based architect E. Tucker Carlton, and was built in two phases. The first, completed in 1947, consists of nine building of three stories each, while the second, finished in 1950, consists of eight buildings of two stories each. The complex was designed in the Colonial Revival style, and all buildings are constructed of concrete blocks fronted with brick. The English Gardens was designed as a garden apartment complex, arranged to create courtyards between the buildings in order to maximize green space and ventilation. The Federal Housing Administration provided financing for the project, which was aimed primarily at middle-class World War II veterans and their families. The complex was listed to the National Register of Historic Places in 2022, and as of 2023 was in the process of reopening after a renovation.

The Grandin Road Commercial Historic District, also referred to as Grandin Village, is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places located in the Raleigh Court neighborhood of the independent city of Roanoke, Virginia. Centered at the intersection of Memorial Avenue and Grandin Road (US 11), Grandin Village hosts an array of independently owned retail and dining establishments. The district has been noted as one of Roanoke's best examples of a mixed-use urban village, and has been used as a local model for future mixed-use developments within the community.

Norwich is a Roanoke, Virginia neighborhood located in west central Roanoke, immediately south of the Roanoke River. It borders the neighborhoods of Mountain View on the east, and Raleigh Court on the south. The northern and western reaches of the neighborhood are bound by the Roanoke River without crossings into both Hurt Park and Cherry Hill across the river. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, Norwich has a population of 652 residents.

The Norwich Historic District is located in the southwest section of Roanoke, Virginia, US. It consists of 55 acres (22 ha) of primarily residential housing and industrial buildings and is situated immediately south of the Roanoke River and west of the city's downtown. The district's historical significance dates to the 1890 establishment of the Roanoke Development Company, a real estate firm that developed the neighborhood and lured industry to the area. One such factory was the Norwich Lock Company, which along with later area businesses built housing for its employees. The majority of these houses, many of which are near-identical shotgun style cottages, still stand in the 21st century. The district is the only intact collection of late-1800s workers' housing in the city and a rare extant example in the American South. It consists of 116 contributing resources including two sites and one structure, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2024.

The southwestern border is shared with Roanoke County. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, Grandin Court had a total of 1,144 occupied housing units.

Evergreen Burial Park is a cemetery located at 1307 Summit Avenue, SW in the Raleigh Court neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. The cemetery began in 1916 in what was then Roanoke County.The cemetery was designed by the Hare and Hare design firm of Kansas City, Missouri. There were nearly 25,000 burials in the 54-acre (220,000 m2) cemetery by late 2011. A walking tour is available highlighting some of the more interesting individuals and stories of the social history of Roanoke.

Fishburn Park Keeper's Cottage is a historic building located in Roanoke, Virginia, United States. It was constructed in stages beginning in c. 1820, making it possibly the oldest building still standing in Roanoke City. It is also a rare example of combined hewn-log and timber-frame construction in Southwest Virginia. The building was privately owned for approximately a century before coming under city ownership, and for much of the 20th century was used as a park caretaker's cottage by two generations of the same family. After sitting unoccupied for several decades, the house and a portion of the surrounding parkland were involved in controversial attempts by the city to sell them to private owners. The cottage was listed to the National Register of Historic Places in 2026, and as of that year was in the process of restoration into a coffee shop.

The Roanoke Apartments, also known as the Terrace Apartments, is an apartment complex listed on the National Register of Historic Places located at 1402 Maiden Lane in the Raleigh Court neighborhood of the independent city of Roanoke, Virginia, U.S.A. Designed by James F. Mactier and constructed by Paul A. Wood, the complex features seven separate buildings, each with brick facades, and is Roanoke's best example of the streamline moderne style developed in the early 1950s. Today the complex is noted for its ethnic diversity with its residents representing a wide array of religious and ethnic groups.

James Madison Middle School located in the Franklin-Colonial neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia, USA, is situated on a large hill with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Opened in 1970, it is a magnet school for technology and is part of the Roanoke City Public Schools. The school's athletics teams are the Matadors.
