Whitman is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 15,121 at the 2020 census. It is notable as being the place where the chocolate chip cookie was invented.

Whitman Park is a historic park near the center of the town of Whitman, Massachusetts. It is bounded by Maple Street and Park, Whitman, and Hayden Avenues. The park was established in 1880 by a gift of land from Augustus Whitman, whose family gave the town its name. The well-known Olmsted Brothers landscape firm was retained to design a public park on this land, which was implemented in 1900. This gave the park the basic layout of its paths, as well as its general appearance as a woodland park with open fields for passive recreation. Features that were part of the Olmsted design include a wading pool, concrete tennis court (now used as basketball court), bandstand, and a drinking fountain. The Olmsteds were retained again in 1931 to update the design, accounting for the addition in 1908 of the Civil War monument, and to deal with problematic drainage of water from the park's low-lying areas. The major intrusion on the Olmsted design has been the construction of a Little League ballfield in one corner.The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Company is a historic factory complex at 7 Marble Street in Whitman, Massachusetts. The Commonwealth Shoe Company was formed in 1885 by the merger of Charles H. Jones & Co. and Bay State Shoe & Leather Co. The company produced the hugely popular Bostonian shoe, known for its high quality and comfort. The Whitman factory complex was its original site. In 1968, Commonwealth Shoe and Leather merged with Kayser-Roth, which later sold the Bostonian shoe brand to British shoemaker Clarks in 1979. Clarks still produces shoes under the Bostonian brand. The factory complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Whitman station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Whitman, Massachusetts. It serves the Plymouth/Kingston Line. It is located off South Avenue (MA 27). Parking is available on the south side of South Avenue on both sides of the tracks. The station opened along with the rest of the Old Colony Lines on September 26, 1997.

Whitman-Hanson Regional High School is a public high school located in Hanson, Massachusetts, United States. The school serves students in grades 9-12 from the towns of Whitman, Massachusetts and Hanson, Massachusetts. It is part of the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District. The schools colors are Black & Red and the mascot is the Panther. Until 1960, the school was called Whitman High School and was then located in an older building across from the Whitman Town Park and the Colebrook Cemetery in Whitman, MA. Both Whitman and Hanson students used the school, although at an even earlier time, the school had also housed students from other towns including Halifax, MA. The old Whitman High School had become so crowded that by the 1959-1960 academic year, classes were attended in split day schedules with the Freshman class attending in the afternoon. The new building was called Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and was open for classes and occupied in September 1960. It was located on Franklin Street at the town line of Whitman and Hanson, at a site in front of the current Whitman-Hanson Regional High School (which is now hidden from sight from Franklin Street).

The East Bridgewater Common Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic town center of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The district is centered on the town common, which was established in 1721, and radiates along Central Street away from the common. The oldest houses in the district date to 1703, and the Old Graveyard is also known to have been in use by that time. The First Parish Church, a focal point of the common area, was built in 1794 and extensively restyled in the 1850s. Town offices are now housed in the estate house of the Aaron Hobart, built in the 1850s in the Italianate style.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital is a 216-bed hospital located in Brockton, Massachusetts.Brockton Hospital is equipped with the Helen Greene Cardiac Catheterization Suite. The cardiac suite is equipped to perform Intravascular Ultrasounds, AngioJets, Radial Stenting, Advanced X-Rays, and more. It was donated in 2007 by the W.B. Mason Company. The hospital is affiliated with the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. The hospital has been closed since early March 2023 due to a fire.
