Shimo-Itabashi Station (下板橋駅, Shimo-Itabashi-eki, lit. "Lower Itabashi Station") is a railway station on the Tobu Tojo Line in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Tobu Railway. Despite its name, the station is not actually located in Itabashi, Tokyo.

The Toshima Incineration Plant (豊島清掃工場) is a waste treatment plant located in Kami-ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. It covers an area of 12,000 square meters and has two incineration units with a combined capacity of 400 tons of waste per day.The plant was constructed with a large fitness center in order to appease area residents who may have otherwise opposed its construction. The center's swimming pool is heated from burning garbage while electricity is supplied from a steam-driven turbine. The plant outputs 7,800 kW of electricity, enough to supply 20,000 homes.The plant's smokestack, at 210 meters in height, is the tallest industrial chimney in the special wards of Tokyo and was constructed in order for exhaust from the plant to clear the nearby 239-meter Sunshine 60 building.

Toshima (豊島区, Toshima-ku) is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. It is one of the eight central wards of the Tokyo Metropolitan area. Located in the northern area of Tokyo, Toshima is bordered by the wards of Nerima, Itabashi, and Kita in the north and Nakano, Shinjuku, and Bunkyo in the south. The ward was founded on March 15, 1947, and reached a peak resident population of 370,000 in 1965. The population has continued to decline and as of May 1, 2015, the ward had an estimated population of 298,250, with a population density of 22,920 persons per km2. During the day the population swells with commuters, resulting in a daytime population of around 378,475. The total land area of Toshima is 13.01 km2, sitting on a moderate plateau with a difference of 28 m between the ward's highest and lowest points. Approximately 47% of Toshima's land is residential, and 20% is commercial and public areas.Although Toshima is a ward, it is referred to as a city. The ward offices are located in Ikebukuro, which is also the commercial and entertainment center of Toshima.With a non-Japanese population of 19,868, or 7.42% of the total, Toshima is one of the most international wards in Tokyo. Of the foreign population, 56% is of Chinese descent, 20% is of Korean descent, with the rest being of primarily Filipino and European descent.

Inari-yu is a Japanese communal bathhouse (sentō) in Kita, Tokyo in Japan. It was built in 1930 with traditional architecture of Japanese temples. This building was listed as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2019. It was the second bathhouse in Tokyo and only dozens more nationwide to be listed.Inari-yu was listed as one of 25 sites of the 2020 World Monuments Watch published by World Monuments Fund (WMF) to recognize its innovative approach to preservation by transforming an adjacent structure to a social gathering facility to suit the 21st century lifestyle while still keeping the traditional communal bathing alive. Additionally, the operator has opened it up more to serve foreign tourists by having multilingual explanatory signages on how to use the bathhouse. WMF hopes that it can be a model for preservations of bathhouses elsewhere given that only about 500 bathhouses still remain in Tokyo and one bathhouse closes down each week.

Taisho University (大正大学, Taishō daigaku) is a private university in Nishi-sugamo, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1885, and it was chartered as a university in 1926. Its school precepts are based on the Tendai school of Buddhism. The concept for the university began when five doctors—Junjiro Takakusu, Masaharu Anesaki, Eun Maeda, Senshō Murakami and Masataro Sawayanagi—who were leaders of Buddhist society in Japan, proposed creating a Buddhist university union.

The Lycée Français International de Tokyo (LFI Tokyo, Japanese: 東京国際フランス学園 Tōkyō Kokusai Furansu Gakuen) is a French international school in Takinogawa (滝野川), Kita, Tokyo, serving levels Kindergarten through high school. It is a part of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE, according to its French name). At one time the school was located in Chiyoda, and its name was the Lycée Franco-Japonais de Tokyo (日仏学園 Nichifutsu Gakuen).As of 2016 the school's student body had 55 nationalities, and almost 1215 students were Francophone.

Otome Road (乙女ロード, Otome Rōdo, lit. "Maiden Road") is a name given to an area of Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Japan that is a major shopping and cultural center for anime and manga aimed at women. The area is sometimes referred to as Fujoshi Street, referencing the name given to fans of yaoi.

Nekobukuro Cat's House (ねこぶくろ) is a petting zoo for cats located on the eighth floor of the Ikebukuro Tokyu Hands store. Nekobukuro is a play on the Japanese word for cat, "neko", and the location Ikebukuro. It is one of the better known cat-petting destinations, being included in tourist and sightseeing guides.For an entrance fee, customers may interact and play with any of the fifteen to twenty cats currently running free around Nekobukuro at the time. Over 30 cats are rostered in and out over the course of the day to ensure they are not over-handled. Like Tokyo's many cat cafés, Nekobukuro is viewed as an alternative to pet ownership while still maintaining pet interaction. Not only is buying and keeping a pet in Japan expensive, many apartments will not allow pets, and some Tokyo residents feel their work schedule may not be compatible with the ownership of an animal.Nekobukuro has no attached cafe and does not permit food or drink, but a couples discount and no time limit ensures its continued popularity as a destination on dates.
