Kingham

Kingham railway station in Oxfordshire, England, is between the Oxfordshire village of Kingham and the Gloucestershire village of Bledington, to which it is closer. It is also the closest station to the town of Chipping Norton. The station is on the Cotswold Line and is served by Great Western Railway trains.

Sarsden Halt was an unstaffed railway station on the Banbury and Cheltenham Direct Railway.

Churchill & Sarsden Heritage Centre is a heritage centre in the Cotswolds village of Churchill, Oxfordshire, England.

Churchill and Sarsden are civil parishes in West Oxfordshire with a common parish council, about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Chipping Norton. The joint body was formed in 2012 by merging the formerly separate parish councils of Churchill and Sarsden.

Foscot is a hamlet in the Cotswolds in the Evenlode valley. It falls within Idbury civil parish, in the West Oxfordshire District, about 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of Stow-on-the-Wold in neighbouring Gloucestershire, and 1.7 miles (2.7 km) from Kingham. It is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Foscot is in the ecclesiastical parish of St Leonard, Bledington and is socially integrated with the adjacent Bledington village. The major landowner is Loudham Estates, based at Foxcote Farm. Foxholes, a woodland nature reserve sloping down to the River Evenlode with year-round colour and wildlife interest, is adjacent to Foscot. It is noted for its spring bluebells and abundant bat and bird life and is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.

Churchill is a village and civil parish about three miles (five kilometres) southwest of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Since 2012 it has been part of the Churchill and Sarsden joint parish council area, sharing a parish council with the adjacent civil parish of Sarsden. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 665.

Lyneham is a village and civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. It is bounded to the southwest by the River Evenlode, to the southeast by the A361 road linking Chipping Norton and Burford, and on other sides by field boundaries. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 153.

Kingham Hill School is a Christian co-educational independent day and boarding school for children aged 11–18, located near the village of Kingham in Oxfordshire. It was founded by local landowner Charles Young in 1886, with buildings designed by the architect William Howard Seth-Smith.

Bould Wood is a 58.2-hectare (144-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Shipton-under-Wychwood in Oxfordshire. An area of 23 hectares (57 acres) is Foxholes nature reserve, which is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.This site is mainly ancient semi-natural woodland, but it also has two streams, a pond and a wet meadow. The lower plant flora is diverse. Fungi include tricholoma toadstools and Cudoniella clavus, while there are lichens such as Cladonia polydactyla, Catillaria prasina and Graphis scripta.

The Anglican Church of St Leonard at Bledington in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, England, was built in 12th century. It is a grade I listed building.

Bledington is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England, about four miles south-east of Stow-on-the-Wold and six miles south-west of Chipping Norton. The population of the civil parish in 2014 was estimated to be 490.Bledington lies in the Evenlode valley, and forms part of the Gloucestershire–Oxfordshire boundary and stands on the Oxfordshire Way. There are deposits of alluvial soil, but most of the land is heavy clay, the parish being almost entirely on the Lower Lias. The village is built round a rectangle of streets, with the church in the south corner, and the green, with most of the older houses near it, on the northwest side. The southern part of the village has been developed extensively since 1920. The village green is a large unenclosed stretch of grass, with a stream running through it. The parish church dates from the 12C and was extended in the 15C. The village has a county primary school which dates from the late 19C. It has a pub, The Kings Head, on the village green. Its former shop and post office have long since closed, but a new community run shop was opened in 2019 Bledington Community Shop. The village hall, which stands near the centre of the village, is a converted 18C barn of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. A trust was formed and the building was bought in 1920 for the use of the people of Bledington and Foscot hamlet. It was renovated and re-roofed in 2016.

Sarsden is a village and civil parish about 3 miles (5 km) south of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The 2001 Census recorded the parish population as 83. Since 2012 Sarsden has been part of the Churchill and Sarsden joint parish council area, sharing a parish council with the adjacent civil parish of Churchill.
