Churchill, Oxfordshire

Churchill and Sarsden are civil parishes in West Oxfordshire with a common parish council, about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Chipping Norton. The joint body was formed in 2012 by merging the formerly separate parish councils of Churchill and Sarsden.

Sarsgrove Wood is a 41.9-hectare (104-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire.This ancient wood has a diverse geology resulting in a variety of soil conditions. A stream with poorly drained valley walls runs through the wood. More freely-drained areas have ground flora including early-purple orchid, primrose, bluebell, early dog-violet, sweet violet and narrow-leaved everlasting pea.The site is private land with no public access.

It is bounded to the southwest by the River Evenlode, to the southeast by the A361 road linking Chipping Norton and Burford, and on other sides by field boundaries. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 153.

Lyneham Longbarrow (grid reference SP297210) is a long barrow near Lyneham, Oxfordshire. It is beside the A361 road, between Shipton-under-Wychwood and Chipping Norton. Just nine metres from the barrow mound stands a 1.8 metre tall standing stone.
