John Marshall High School (JMHS) is a free public secondary school in the San Antonio suburb of Leon Valley in northwest Bexar County named after Chief Justice John Marshall. The school serves students in grades 9-12, and is part of the Northside Independent School District, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. The campus serves most of the suburb of Leon Valley and large portions of northwest San Antonio. Marshall was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 1992-93.In 2017, Marshall was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency, with a 3-Star Distinction for Academic Achievements in Science, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness.

Leon Valley is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. It is an enclave on the northwestern side of San Antonio and is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. Its population was 11,542 at the 2020 census. Leon Valley is an independent municipality surrounded by the city of San Antonio.

The San Antonio Aquarium is a for-profit aquarium located in San Antonio, Texas. The facility features a number of interactive exhibits where touching the animals was permitted. The aquarium is owned and operated by Crysty Covino, the wife of former owner Ammon Covino.

Northside Health Careers High School (HCHS) is a magnet school in San Antonio's Northside Independent School District for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. UT Health San Antonio Cancer Center, founded in 1974, is an NCI-designated Cancer Center in San Antonio, Texas. It is a component of the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio which is located adjacently. Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital (STVHCS) is a care facility affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in Bexar County, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is operated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The hospital is named for Medal of Honor recipient and Texas native son Audie Murphy, who died in a plane crash on May 28, 1971. That same year, U.S. Congressman Olin Teague introduced legislation to name a planned Veterans Administration medical facility in San Antonio for Murphy. The facility was dedicated November 17, 1973.

KXTJ-LP is a low-power FM radio station serving the northwest side of San Antonio, Texas. It is known as Classic Hits 96.9 with a format of 1980s, and 1990s music.

University Health is the public hospital district for the San Antonio, Texas, US metropolitan area. Owned and operated by Bexar County, it is the third largest public health system in Texas. The ACE STAR Model of Knowledge Transformation © is a framework for the systematic integration of evidence into practice. The STAR Model is composed of five major stages: knowledge discovery, evidence summary, translation into practice recommendations, integration into practice, and evaluation. The model is one of the most commonly used frameworks that have shaped evidence-based nursing.The model was developed by Dr. Kathleen Stevens at the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice located at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The model has been represented in many nursing textbooks, used as part of an intervention to increase EBP competencies, and as a framework for instruments measuring EBP readiness.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) is a public academic health science center in San Antonio, Texas. It is part of the University of Texas System. UT Health San Antonio is the largest health sciences university in South Texas. It is located in the South Texas Medical Center and serves San Antonio and all of the 50,000 square miles (130,000 km2) area of Central and South Texas. It extends to campuses in the Texas border communities of Laredo and the Lower Rio Grande Valley. UT Health San Antonio has produced more than 39,700 graduates; more than 3,400 students a year train in an environment that involves more than 100 affiliated hospitals, clinics and health care facilities in South Texas. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Department of Radiology is the second largest academic department in Radiological Sciences in the United States. Its Graduate Program in Radiological Sciences offers graduate training in various tracks, including Medical Physics, radiation biology, Medical Health Physics, and Neuroimaging. In addition the educational enterprise includes an accredited radiology residency program and a number of fellowships. The department was historically the first program in the United States to establish a Ph.D. program for radiology residents, which is known as the "Human Imaging" graduate program. While the Radiology Department is part of the School of Medicine, the graduate program is housed administratively within the UTHSCSA Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). With a minimum of 55 graduate students and over 60 fixed and adjunct faculty members, the program is currently one of the largest graduate programs in medical physics in the United States, and is one of only 17 programs in North America accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP).
