Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital (STVHCS) is a care facility affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in Bexar County, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is operated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The hospital is named for Medal of Honor recipient and Texas native son Audie Murphy, who died in a plane crash on May 28, 1971. That same year, U.S. Congressman Olin Teague introduced legislation to name a planned Veterans Administration medical facility in San Antonio for Murphy. The facility was dedicated November 17, 1973.

Northside Health Careers High School (HCHS) is a magnet school in San Antonio's Northside Independent School District for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. HCHS attracts students from school districts all across Bexar County and some from as far as Hondo, Texas.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Department of Radiology is the second largest academic department in Radiological Sciences in the United States. Its Graduate Program in Radiological Sciences offers graduate training in various tracks, including Medical Physics, radiation biology, Medical Health Physics, and Neuroimaging. In addition the educational enterprise includes an accredited radiology residency program and a number of fellowships. The department was historically the first program in the United States to establish a Ph.D. program for radiology residents, which is known as the "Human Imaging" graduate program. While the Radiology Department is part of the School of Medicine, the graduate program is housed administratively within the UTHSCSA Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). With a minimum of 55 graduate students and over 60 fixed and adjunct faculty members, the program is currently one of the largest graduate programs in medical physics in the United States, and is one of only 17 programs in North America accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). The UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, Formally known as Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, often abbreviated UTHSCSA-Dental, is one of three dental schools in the state of Texas. It is located on the main campus of University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. Although a relatively young school in the country, the institute has managed to climb to renowned status in a very short time. In the last ranking of U.S. News & World Report which was published in 1996, the school was ranked at #1.Each year, over 90 students graduate from the DDS program at the UTHSCSA.

The ACE STAR Model of Knowledge Transformation © is a framework for the systematic integration of evidence into practice. The STAR Model is composed of five major stages: knowledge discovery, evidence summary, translation into practice recommendations, integration into practice, and evaluation. The model is one of the most commonly used frameworks that have shaped evidence-based nursing.The model was developed by Dr. Kathleen Stevens at the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice located at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The model has been represented in many nursing textbooks, used as part of an intervention to increase EBP competencies, and as a framework for instruments measuring EBP readiness.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) is a public academic health science center in San Antonio, Texas. It is part of the University of Texas System. UT Health San Antonio is the largest health sciences university in South Texas. It is located in the South Texas Medical Center and serves San Antonio and all of the 50,000 square miles (130,000 km2) area of Central and South Texas. It extends to campuses in the Texas border communities of Laredo and the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The Dolph Briscoe Jr. Library is the central library of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio library system. It is located in South Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, US. The award-winning library was designed by Kell Muñoz Architects. Completed in 1983, it was named in 1985 after Dolph Briscoe.In 2005, the library was awarded the nation's highest library award for their outreach programs. The award was presented to the library by the first lady, Laura Bush.

The Texas Neurosciences Institute (TNI) is the name of a medical office building in San Antonio, Texas.The building is adjacent to the University of Texas Health Science Center medical school. Medical specialties in the building include pediatrics, pediatric hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, internal medicine, etc. There are also diagnostic labs and radiology imaging centers located there.

The Baptist Health System School of Health Professions evolved from a private network of health science schools sponsored by the Baptist Health System located at the South Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
